Regarding the word "truth" in your username
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your constructive contributions so far, it is much appreciated!
I noticed that your username includes the word "truth". Whilst this might seem like a good idea, many users with the word "truth" in their username turn out to be disruptive or not here to contribute constructively. Because of this, experienced users tend to view any user with "truth" in their username with a lot of suspicion, even if they are making constructive contributions. Bearing this in mind you may wish to request a new account name, but you are also welcome to continue to make constructive contributions under this name if you prefer. Whilst you are not required to change your username, it may save you unnecessary drama later on. Cheerio and happy editing! Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 08:58, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. Thanks for letting me know! Thebrowntruth (talk) 10:42, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

Please do not change what the cited references actually say - the 2022 UN report tells us what was expected to happen in 2023 - it can't tell us what actually happened. - Arjayay (talk) 09:13, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message! However, I disagree with you. I can understand that my statement on India being the world's largest country by population differs from the cited reference (which is out-of-date, in my opinion). Thus, I am happy to find a new reputable and updated sources so that the cited reference agrees with the statement. Here are some that I found that are recent and easy to find on the internet (rather than having to go through webarchive)

- Please feel free to provide a constructive explanation on why we can't provide a more updated/alternative cited reference.
- World population counters rely on projections by the UN, as it takes many years for official censuses to be published. I know that is unfortunate in that it is hard to "predict what actually happened", but the majority of the world has accepted that we will have to deal with the uncertainty of not knowing "what actually happened". This is why major news organizations have accepted the projection of India being the largest country by April 2023 as reality. Wikipedia thus must be in-line with other online sources and common knowledge interpretations on worldwide populations.
- Searching up 'India Population' on Bing or Google leads to the statement "India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the most populous country in the world, and the most populous democracy." and "India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the most populous country in the world, and the most populous democracy".
- Article on BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-65320690
- another article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/65389883
- It's already prominent on other Wikipedia articles too, which makes this article inconsistent with other articles on Wikipedia
- My point is that there are newer sources by the UN that don't simply say that "India is projected to be larger than China 2023", they now say "India became larger than China in April 2023". Thus, I suggest we change the source. Thebrowntruth (talk) 10:42, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, given you have not raised any objections yet, I will move forward and update the cited references to new links (new links by the UN of course), which will give the space for the changes in the article. Please once again do let me know if you have any concerns! Thanks for being constructive on this. Thebrowntruth (talk) 13:55, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- It is unlikely that the editor ever saw your reply because you didn't "ping" them, that is provide a link with their username. I just wanted to mention that the best place to have these discussions is on the article talk page so I hope you brought all of these resources to that page to pursue your editing objectives. "Indian" is still in use in many communities and the names of many organizations
editHello and welcome! Please do not initiate name changes and page moves without consensus to do so. This is the policy on Wikipedia, and at the Native American Wikiproject. Come join us at the Wikiproject so we can all collaborate on these articles. In the meantime, I'm going to have to revert your unsupported changes to "Indian Princess". The whole point of the article is that "Indian Princess" is an untrue and offensive stereotype, and that's the term in the sources. To try to change it to something that's not offensive would be both unsourced and changing the entire premise of the article. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 19:34, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
