Please do not add advertising to Wikipedia. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 12:52, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Aside from the article (we have notability criteria for articles, and this one clearly didn't meet them), you added an inappropriate link to Student, and another to List of guitar manufacturers which placed this minor manufacturer out of alphabetical order in front of makes like Fender... all these are signs of the advertiser. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 12:59, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why would anyone looking for "Freshman Guitars" look up "Student"? --Mel Etitis (Talk) 13:07, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, first you need to check Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies).

With regard to Freshman, it's important to make sure that you know how to create such things as disambiguation pages before trying it out... Here are some useful links:

Freshman Guitars

edit

I've left it there for the moment, but it's difficult to see what's notable about it as it stands. Also, you don't seem to have read the guides and help pages to which I pointed you; I've done some work on it, but much more needs doing. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 15:24, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is indeed a lot of rubbish in Wikipedia, but that can't be used as a reason for ignoring the notability guidelines here, I'm afraid. You might know them to be important, but you have to give information and sources to demonstrate that. You also need to look at the main pages on how to write and format articles. Also:

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 20:13, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia contains a lot of poor articles, material that goes aganist guidelines and policies, etc.; we do what we can to deal with it. It's no argument for one article that other articles do the same thing, if that goes against our rules. If you link thos earticles, I'll take a look, though, and edit them accordingly. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 12:28, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Freshmanlogo.jpg

I have enabled the account creation option from that IP adress since the duration of the block is 1 year and that it is shared by multiple users. Feel free to create an account from that workspace now, I had no choice to maintain the block against anonymous users from this IP address, because it had a lengthy history of disruption and has been blocked on many occasions.--JForget 17:18, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
