Hi there. Just noticed this edit; there's probably not an easy way for the bot to tell that the previous edit was category-damaging vandalism, but I just thought I'd give you a heads-up anyway. 28bytes (talk) 02:18, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- I have reported[1] this issue before, with the suggestion that Helpful bot could back-off for a little while after IP edits to allow another editor to fix the vandalism before Helpful bot dives in with a sledgehammer. —Sladen (talk) 10:29, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hey guys, sorry for the delay in responding. I'll ask the developers of pywikipedia if such a delay can be implemented, the script that adds the interwiki links is looking at the RC feed to add edits, maybe I can tell it to ignore pages if the last edit was by an IP. The Helpful One 12:02, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- (Bump.) I think ignoring last edits from IPs would be a good solution, since I think virtually all problematic cases have involved IP vandalism. A fixed delay could still fail if the vandalism wasn't caught in that time. --Paul_012 (talk) 15:55, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Your bot does something not quite right
Hi, I have run into two cases where your 'Thehelpfulbot' adds a {reflist}. However, in both cases the earlier edit was vandalism where the reference thing was removed, see: [2] and [3]. I am not going to fix possible other cases where your bot "fixed" something following vandalism. Just to let you know there is a problem. Regards. --VanBurenen (talk) 20:18, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

Wow, your bot has helped me by correcting a {reflist} that I misspelled which would have been looked like something totally wrong if left uncorrected especially when the article COULD be "PRODed" if the information where to show up incorrect. Thank you. James3167 (talk) 03:01, 20 June 2012 (UTC) |

I would like to thank everyone for your questions and comments. If appointed I will strive to do the best job possible for the community and the project I will also keep in mind that according to this log I will be the only non-admin in the group and the best I could hope for is to pave a strong smooth path for future non-admins, again I appreciate your interest, concerns and support.
