Nice work on Louis Braille. I think you should be able to edit now? - Nunh-huh 09:40, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I am. --Theone3 09:45, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Frankly, I know nothing about this guy, but there is a desperate need for an article now. This is really my first big writeup too. :O --Theone3 09:53, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for finding a picture of Braille, but you provided no source with your photo, could you please mention on the image page where you got it from and why you believe it to be public domain. Matt 11:18, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's a very common photo that's spread aroud all the different languages of Wikipedia. I doctored a high-res shot that I found here: [1]

re:reverting

edit

See Wikipedia:Revert. Admin's have a rollback button so can revert much easyer, and the comment you see in the history after my revert is added automatically after I click the rollback.

Regarding this article: I guess you find me stupidly stubborn about keeping this article open. And maybe I am, but I am one of those who really like wikipedia to remain freely editable. And that people know and see that indeed we are. When we get high trafic links like this I see it as a chance to show how great wikipedia is and keeping it open and in good shape is one of those things I like to show. But oh well, some other admin wanted it protected now, and I'm not gone fight more over this. Shanes 12:40, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I totally understand where you're coming from and I'd love to be able to have this open too. But the fact is that there is simply too much traffic in this situation and people are bound to take advantage of it. It's like giving teenagers a bunch of spraypaint, a blank wall on the city square and an hour of privacy to contribute to society with. It just dosent work like that. --Theone3 12:43, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

talk pages

edit

Please don't delete what I and other people write on talk pages. I know you do it in good faith, but it's one of those things that are considered rude here. If there has been a discussion over protection on a talk page, that discussion is informative for other readers and they might want to add to it. Talk pages are different from articles in this regard. So please let it stay and only edit your own stuff there. Shanes 13:04, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ah. Sorry. Won't happen again. --Theone3 13:07, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Louis Braille

edit

We decided over on talk to unprotect to try to encourage new contributors. I'm personally watching it (as are others) and reverting. At this point I'd like to avoid protection. Comments are probably best at Talk:Louis Braille Respectfully, Wikibofh(talk) 16:00, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

No probs. Should have read first. Sorry. --Theone3 16:01, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
