Could you take a look at this, please?
Hi theonesean,
I've still got to flesh out the decades with a little more material, but I believe I've addressed all the issues we've discussed regarding sourcing and "peacockery". I'd really appreciate it if you have the time to look it over and give me your feedback on it. The article is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Sue_draheim.
Thanks for all your help.Akhooha (talk) 21:35, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- Akhooha, this article is awesome. Well written, extensively sourced... it's wonderful. Keep doing what you're doing - finish up the 2000s section, eliminate the "reviews" section or replace it with a paragraph containing some reviews and a summary, and change the album titles to normal case, just italicize them by putting two apostrophes ''on either side''. Other than that, really really good. Thanks, TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 01:42, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking at it and getting back to me so quickly, theonesean. I really appreciate your help, your suggestions, and your encouragement.Akhooha (talk) 04:12, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi theonesean,
Just thought I'd let you know that I took your advice about removing the "reviews" section (just worked them in elsewhere), changed the all caps to italicized title caps in the discography, and just resubmitted it about ten minutes ago. Thanks again for your help. Akhooha (talk) 18:58, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
- Akhooka, it should be reviewed soon. It's not really good for me to review the same article over and over again. However, if it's been a week and it's still not reviewed, drop me a line and I'll rerev it. Thanks, TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 17:00, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi theonesean,
Well, ten days after submission I got the same rejection "template" (i.e. "formal tone, netural pt of view, independent, reliable, published sources, avoid peacock terms," etc). I thought I'd addressed all those issues (or non-issues, as some of them turned out to be); I got rid of unsourceable material, everything remaining was a fact backed up by independent, reliable sources. I had the impression that you thought I'd taken care of all those issues as well when you looked it over just prior to re-submission.
I was starting to write a clarification request to the reviewer, but I was having such a strong sense of deja vu, that I've shelved that for the moment. I'd really prefer to have the article available on Wikipedia, but at this point I'm wondering if I should just pack it in and get it published in a music journal, as it seems that there really is no consensus among reviewers/editors at WP, and pleasing one reviewer is no indication that another reviewer will be similarly pleased.
What's your opinion?
Akhooha (talk) 23:18, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Akhooha, I left a message on James', the reviewer's, talk page. I hope he will reply soon enough. For now, though, don't get disillusioned. Some articles have to go through ten or twenty revisions before they are accepted. However, you have a really good article, so don't worry about it for now. I asked James to leave a message on your talk page explaining what he thought could be improved. Thanks, TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 13:30, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Chamas
Refering to this article: [[1]] and your comment "Please improve sourcing, and if no sources can be found, perhaps Chama isn't notable yet."
Chamas are a major phenomenon in Africa. Of course it is notable. Just because it isn't part of American or British culture doesn't mean it is insignificant. Chamas are a multi billion dollar market in Kenya alone. In Africa it is closer to a trillion dollars market. Cadwallader (talk) 18:02, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Cadwallader, I only suggested they may not be notable because there were only sparse sources in the article. Second of all, looking at the article now, there doesn't seem to be an article there, only a decline template and two comments, one from me and one from you. If you restore the article, I'll gladly help you write the article and find sources. If it's as big as you say it is, I'm sure it has been written about. Thanks, TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 19:58, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I moved the article from the talk page back to the main page, but the link above was to the talk page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/Chama_(Cooperative_Society) Cadwallader (talk) 21:28, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- AfC Articles usually are written on the "talk" page. But I took a look at it. It looks very good, well sourced. Feel free to resubmit it and I or another editor will rerev it soon. TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 21:35, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Glad I made you lolz (and got the point across)
Thanks Sean for the super sweet and awesome award :) I love doing AfCs, perhaps it's some dark love of giving rejection mixed with the sweet satisfaction of a newbie succeeding at their first article. Question - I'd love to use the banner you have at the top of your page - even the one that links to the FAQ about why an article was rejected. Do you think it makes a difference? Or do people still bombard you with the same questions over and over again? :) Any thoughts would be great. I've been doing AFC for a while now...(a few years I think), and any ideas is always welcome. Thanks :D SarahStierch (talk) 23:56, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, Sarah! I personally like it because it's an easy-to-master topic, but it still provides challenges as well. And I like shepherding new people through writing an article, teaching them along the way. That's why I'm currently drafting the AfC Mentoring program to match new reviewers to older, more experienced ones to show them the ropes and get more editors into AfC. And yeah, the banner has helped some. If I wasn't so lazy, I would construct a similar editnotice for my talk page. I originally ripped it off from Hasteur, I think, although it may have been someone else, but I changed the colours and put in the talkback. What I would do is subst it in from User:Theonesean/AfC Banner and change the links to your name. Yeah, I think it reduces the amount of people I have complaining about how the templated responses don't apply to them and allows them to ask better questions that I can actually answer. Sorry for this TL;DR answer, and have an awesome day. TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 15:43, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Titia Ex
Hope I am doing this right, Theonesean.
I just received news that Titia Ex was mentioned in the New York Times last week http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/07/arts/niche-art-fairs-carve-out-a-corner-in-london.html?emc=eta1&_r=0 and that her work was described in an article on the London Kinetica Art Fair as "one of the most popular pieces this year [...] a light installation by the Dutch artist Titia Ex. The work, titled “The Walk,” is a giant sphere featuring 35,000 LED lights, which use flashes of colored lights and a background screen to display a seven and a half minute video inspired partly by Dante’s “Divine Comedy.” Art piece: The Walk.
Last month, Titia Ex' work was shown in Jerusalem. http://en.lightinjerusalem.org.il/2013/sites/en.lightinjerusalem.org.il/files/web-OR2013-booklet-EN.pdf Titia Ex is number 19 on the poster. Art Piece: Flower From The Universe.
In Brussels, her work will be shown for two weeks in October during the Nuits Blanches. Art Piece: Dormitio Mariae.
I created the wiki page for Titia Ex, knowing that she has broken through internationally as an acclaimed light artist. Her work has been shown in the Netherlands (she is Dutch), but also in Germany, Belgium, Turkey, United Kingdom, Israel. She appeared various times on television, and I want to ask you to reconsider approving the page I made for her. Or to make it more clear for me what exactly you are looking for. I am certain I can provide you the links, references, etc you need.
She lived in New York for half a year in the nineties as an artist. She exhibited her art work then and there as well, but I do not have web material for that period.
Will you please reconsider, Theonesean, given the additional information. She has the artistic weight to have her own wiki page. Please help me modify where the page needs modification.
Here is the page once more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Titia_Ex_%282nd_copy%29
Fredrick
- Fredrick, instead of having the external links, use them as general reference. Generally, the article looks good. Perhaps a little anemic, biographically, but it looks fairly good. Just add sources for everything, really extensively. Other than that, you're good. TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 06:38, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for your positive remarks, Theonesean. I reworked the site per your recommendations, and resubmitted it today.

I've reverted your accept, there's multiple issues that prevent this from being in the namespace at this time, namely:
- Doesn't establish notability
- Seems quite advert-y
- Uses many unreliable sources
If you have any questions, feel free to ask :) Charmlet (talk) 04:10, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- You're right. It's teetering on the edge of notability. The coverage in the Montreal source seemed like it was a wide enough audience to establish WP:NCORP, but upon a second look, I was wrong. Thanks. TheOneSean [ U | T | C ] 18:59, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Explaining
I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all.
As for the rest of your comments... thank you. DS (talk) 11:36, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
