Hello, Thisfarbygrace, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Microbial ecology. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Your two edits here were reverted because your writing and English composition (syntax) were careless, and numerous Wikipedia style rules were not followed. These include unmatched subjects and verbs in sentences, incorrect spacing, inconsistent use of singular and plural, unsourced statements, and use of "etc." which is uninformative and has no value to another reader. Overall, the two edits were carelessly written with poor English, appear to have been typed quickly without proofreading, and created WP:MOS errors. Other editors should not be obligated to correct your mistakes. Be more careful to provide concise, correct syntax the first time. Zefr (talk) 15:34, 1 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Then I think the best way was to correct it instead of reverting it, because the information I added was also important. Anyway, thank you. 130.74.59.6 (talk) 15:37, 1 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
