Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Brain Tumor Awareness Month. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Brain tumor. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. - Sorry, Can't restore. The text appears to be largely copied from the Miles for Hope web site, which does not state that its text is public domain. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here. Please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or have permission to use the text isn't sufficient.
- It was also written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. eg Raising awareness is vital to help combat this devastating disease... By national (US?) recognizing May as Brain Tumor Awareness Month, brain tumor patients can get the recognition this disease needs, to raise awareness... - You can recreate a page at any time. Removing the copyright text is essential, it's not worth you jumping through the hoops to release it since the facts are at the Brain Tumour article anyway. Tone down the language, we know it's a nasty disease, but this is an encyclopaedia, not a promotional platform. Make it clearer that it's a US campaign, remember that that "national" does not mean the same to British, Indian or Australian readers that it does to you, good luck Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:42, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
