Edit waring
Like i said before i do not have a desire to get into a edit war but i do not intend to take unreasonable deletions to my work lying down either. Abhishek 191288 is deleting my work without a good reason other than his 'thoughts'. This i feel is extremely unfair. I have tried to reason with him for a reasonable reason but other than his 'thoughts' i have been unable to find one.
If my images are factually providing incorrect information then fine but they cannot be removing because of 'thoughts' or because Abhishek191288 does like them. The warning of edit blockage should go to him for deleting without good reason & for some reason he 'thinks' i am in it for glorification which i am not.
I have put in hard work to get the images & i have stated so when asked by Abhishek191288 for a reason. He has still failed to provide a good reason for his edits & he must be the one who should be blocked not me.
Looking forward for a response from you.
Thank you
I do believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and if another administrator feels i am wrong that is fine. You or other administrators are entitled to that privilege. I have time & again tried to reason with Abhishek191288 for a factual reason but as you are well aware nothing has come out of it. Thank you for your assistance whatever the outcome may eventually be.
Could you pls guide me how do i go to the talk page?
Question
Abhishek191288 has undone one of the images on the page August Kranti Rajdhani Express despite your warning. The image he has re-instated is of another sister train which i have pointed out of his talk page. This also shows quite clearly that he has some personal problem with me & it has nothing to do with my work.
Can i undo his edit as it is factually incorrect without risking a edit block? Superfast1111 (talk) 05:00, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Rajdhani Express – Mumbai August Kranti edits
Well, i have not undone Abhishek191288's edits but i did post a message on his talk page. But i read your comments correctly then i can do so as it concerns factually incorrect information despite the edit block warning. I can edit my talk page but will you be able to follow me comments if i do? Superfast1111 (talk) 05:18, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Active edit war
WP:VPM - the history of this page tells a thousand words. Too big for an ANEW report. IP has taken it to ANEW, Joefromrandb should probably lose rollback for misuse in this edit war and both need blocks.--Jasper Deng (talk) 03:39, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

User:Superfast1111
Hi Tide rolls, I just wanted to let you know that the said user has been repeatedly pushing his/her own images on various articles. When asked why, he replied with several illogical replies, particularly to User:Abhishek191288 saying He lives in Bangalore, a city almost 1153 kms away what reasons does he have for editing Mumbai's suburban railnetwork & articles before undoing his edits leaving an edit summary like this: mind your own business & stay away Abhishek191288. What do you think should be done? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:17, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Rsrikanth. I have seen Superfast making poor decision and have attempted to guide them toward a more collegial path. I'm hoping that they are new and making an effort to learn the ropes here. It would help if Abhishek would stop following Superfast around and reverting their edits. Abhishek has not, in my opinion, done anything wrong; however, from the outside it appears that Abhishek has been targeting the edits of Superfast. The only reason I have not raised this issue with Abhishek is that there sppears to have been consensus for their reverts when other editors have commented. Abhishek's reasoning, while not incorrect in and of itself, does not justify coming behind Superfast and reverting every edit. I think all parties should engage in much more article talk page participation and less reverting. Thanks for your mesaage and any help you can provide in this matter. Tiderolls 15:17, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm monitoring a few Mumbai and Chennai related pages where I have undid his edits. But User:Karthikndr has expressed concern on my talk page. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:59, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have already addressed the matter of personal attacks on Superfast's user talk as well as with the editors that left the warnings. If you think it necessary you could direct Karthikndr to those conversations, or here if a fuller explanation is desired. As far as ANI is concerned, I believe the matter is being handled satisfactorily by the editors involved at the moment. If the general feeling is that Superfast's actions are disruptive to the point that more eyes are needed, then the interested parties must do what they think is necessary. I just don't think we're there yet. Tiderolls 16:25, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. His actions are not exactly disruptive per se, but his edits to Chennai Central which was subsequently discussed on the talk page is being perceived as unwarranted. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:50, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Before you deleted it, it looked like a redirect request to Gabe Newell. Should it be recreated as a redirect? I can't tell if "Gabiel" is his actual name though. ~ihaveamac [talk|contribs] 23:49, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

NSWDET
Thanks for the message :)
I am not sure if you misunderstood what I meant, but the IP Address refers to a closed proxy for the NSWDET, representing between 25,000 and 30,000 students in state and private schools. The address is frequently associated with vandalism due to the nature of the user base. NotinREALITY 00:28, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- I could've easily misunderstood; proxies give me a headache. I am in the minority that would like to see editing from registered accounts only, but we must work within the framework we have. As such, we must assume the good faith of IP editors. When that assumption is abused there are remedies, but process must be followed to assure that users have an opportunity to acquaint themselves with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines before being blocked. Thus the sometimes plodding need for warnings. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Tiderolls 00:38, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Is it the way they work that is confusing or the reasoning? I found it difficult to understand at first, but in the case of the NSWDET it is used to cache common webites to reduce the internet bandwidth required for so many users. Basically, many computers connect to a single server address (the proxy), and then that connects to the internet. If the requested page is already stored on the proxy, it is sent from there without an internet request being made :) NotinREALITY 00:44, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- I can comprehend the basics of your message and I appreciate the explaination. I'm old, so the technical details may eventually make it into my brain :) Tiderolls 01:06, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Block of 202.84.23.99 should be indef
User:202.84.23.99 has a large history of purely vandal edits, many of which are obscene in the extreme, and are clearly intentional and amount to nothing more than juvenile trolling. There does not appear to be any reason to continue to allow anonymous editing from this IP, and IMNSHO, anon. editing from this IP should be blocked indefinitely, as this most recent block is only a little more than a month after the most recent 1-week block, and there is no reason or pattern to indicate that the three prior blocks had any effect, or that this most recent one will change their behavior.
It might be one thing if it were simple vandalism, but the damage done by this user's resorts to gross obscenity far outweighs any good they are likely to ever contribute. If they do grow up enough to be a valued editor, then I'm sure they'd create an account instead of continuing to edit anonymously. besiegedtalk 23:47, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Besieged. Changing behavior is not the reason we block. Sometimes a change in behavior accompanies a return from a block, but change originates internally; external actions can, at best, only serve to influence. We block to prevent vandalism or disruption continuing. The IP address we are discussing is one of a range of addresses that are available to many individuals. For that reason it would be overly restrictive to prevent that address from editing Wikipedia indefinitely as we do not know who will be the next individual to access the internet from that address. I do not disagree with the principle you are expressing but Wikipedia has processes, policies and guidelines to deal with almost any situation. Let's work within the system until such time as the system doesn't work, then we can discuss what changes are necessary. Thanks for your message and for your efforts toward helping build this project. Regards Tiderolls 00:10, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

RevDel?
Hello, in eavesdropping on ANI, I went to the page in question and saw the edit summary on this edit. I wonder if the "little bitch" edit summary is eligible for revdel as "grossly insulting" or "purely disruptive". Made me cringe when I saw that in the revision history. Rgrds. --64.85.220.205 (talk) 11:36, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- It looks disruptive to me but I attempt to avoid using that criterion for revdel as it comes across as too broad. The insult is rather puerile and slovenly employed. It may cast my upbringing in a bad light, but I've heard worse at recess in the fouth grade. I'm not saying you don't have a point but I see no reason to act. You can ask at AN/I for other opinion or seek out other admins that you trust. Regards Tiderolls 13:45, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- In looking at the page history, it just sticks out too much; if it was a Family Guy article it'd be different, but on a species article -- ugh. Thanks for looking at it, the ANI is hatted/closed so I'll accept your reasoning. Rgrds. --64.85.220.205 (talk) 16:18, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

hypocracy
so having an encyclopedia with objectionable information is good.. I see. If you feel as your message to me says, then dont modify ones attempt to guide others where more information is needed. That is hypocritical, sir. I was merely showing where more citations would expand its validity. The topic is not my area of expertise, but the references are to a primary journalistic article; against wikipedia policy might I add. Get off your high horse and let users help the articles. I mean no disrespect, but don't be a hypocrite. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevintampa5 (talk • contribs) 22:30, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- Objectionable? I'm sure that word is defined differently by the two of us, and probably has more than six billion definitions worldwide. If you have a problem with the sources, take your concerns to the article talk page. Try to improve the article. If advocating article improvement equates to hypocracy for you, then you are seriously wasting your time here. Tiderolls 22:34, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- Objectionable in english has only one meaning. The hypocritical nature is not of the objection, but your message of not modifying a page/article for validation. Your message said If I want to add to it I can, but if not then move along. I was adding to it by showing where more info would validate this article and bring it to wiki policy standards. I dont say I am an expert at this stuff, but you need to show a little courtesy in your communication with users, as your message was blunt and unfriendly. No response?
I’m still waiting for some kind of response from you after your vague terseness. If you’re simply ignoring me, I honestly have no idea why, and would very much appreciate some kind of explanation as to that, if not answers to my previous questions. Thanks. —Frungi (talk) 23:58, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- I was hoping that you would understand that I have answered you. I have stated my answer as simply as I am able. Tiderolls 00:06, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- Additionally. Tiderolls 00:09, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- I was half-joking about the barnstar, but you really haven't answered me. Why did you offer to submit the AfD and then silently revoke that offer? Did you decide (like me) that the redirect was trivial and common-sense enough that that wasn't necessary? —Frungi (talk) 00:22, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- If you did answer (beyond the lone, curt reply on here), I clearly missed it and can't seem to find it, so please reiterate. Or else it seemed too incomplete or vague to me, so please elaborate. Either way, please respond. —Frungi (talk) 01:13, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
I don’t understand this silent treatment. Please explain. I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong or rude (possibly aside from some false assumptions that you haven’t corrected me on—and please do correct them if that’s the case), and it was never my intention to do so; if you believe I did, I’m deeply sorry, and I ask you point it out to me so I can try to avoid similar in the future.
Just to be sure we’re clear, the basic problem I have with this situation is that, as I understand it, you came to a different decision after our discussion than the one you had committed to, and you never mentioned this to me or told me what that new decision was (and still haven’t). You said you’ve answered my questions, and I assume you mean “I've changed my mind,”
but honestly, that just opened further unanswered questions. I’d simply like to know why you didn’t see fit to follow through on what you said you’d do, nor to mention this fact to me for nearly a month.
If any of this has been answered, I missed it completely, so please point me in the right direction. —Frungi (talk) 23:21, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- I honestly don’t know how to interpret your actions toward and around me, or the lack thereof. I’d been hoping for some kind of guidance from you on that point. But since you seem completely uninterested in giving any, I’m just going to assume that my initial action was right, and that that was what you “changed your mind” about. Frustratingly, I still have absolutely no idea why you said nothing until I contacted you a month later, why you were so curt with me when you did, or why you’ve never explained any of this.
- I’m unwatching this page. If you do choose to respond, please post to my Talk page. —Frungi (talk) 23:31, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Apology
I’m sorry to have disrupted your talk page. That was not my intent; as I said, you had seemed to leave things so vague that I simply didn’t know what else to do or to assume. Apparently I’ve misunderstood your lack of communication, and for that I apologize. —Frungi (talk) 07:35, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- "Please do not approach me about this matter again." appears to be a challenge for you to comprehend as well. Tiderolls 07:48, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, let me clarify: In apologizing, I meant that I would respect your wishes. I still have no idea what you've had against me since this, but if you're set on not telling me, that's your prerogative. —Frungi (talk) 08:14, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Turns out I can’t simply let this lie. I want to resolve matters between us, or at least to have the opportunity to avoid repeating this incident with others in the future. You offered to do something for me, and then after I thanked you, you “changed your mind” without telling me. I can’t see this as anything but incredibly disingenuous, so naturally I assumed I was mistaken and had obliviously done something horribly wrong and/or personally offensive. You refused to clarify, which reinforced my assumption that I’d offended you. As far as I know, we’ve never interacted before you initially reverted my redirect, so I ask you simply: What did I do? Why the hostility? Or am I mistaken altogether? —Frungi (talk) 08:20, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Since you seem not to notice new posts this far up your Talk page, I’m posting a Talkback template to direct you to them, since I believe that would be more acceptable than rearranging conversations on your Talk. I’m asking you to either tell me what I did a month or two ago to make you so hostile toward me so that I may correct my behavior, or tell me I’m wrong and there’s some other explanation for what I described above. I don’t think this is an unreasonable request. I do think it’s unreasonable to not answer it and leave me wondering. —Frungi (talk) 03:50, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
Error on User page
Your User page says you are “always open to civil discussion.” Seeing as you have ignored all my attempts at civil discussion, I suggest you edit this. —Frungi (talk) 17:44, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
