Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.ocbs.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=98%3Aabout-us&catid=20%3Ageneral&Itemid=78.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Zunraa (talk) 21:15, 28 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Digitized page of Shikshapatri.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 00:09, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Hindu-youth-research-project.jpg

edit

The file File:Hindu-youth-research-project.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Decorative use of non-free cover art in Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies#Research. Non-free book covers, etc. are generally considered acceptable when they are used for primary indentification purposes either in the main infobox or at the top of stand-alone articles of the work in question per item 1 of WP:NFCI; however, when such cover art is used in other articles or in other ways, non-free use tends to be much harder to justify per WP:NFC#cite_note-3. In such case, it is typically considered necessary for the cover art itself to be the subject of sourced critical commentary to provide the context required by WP:NFCC#8. Simply mentioning the book by name and wanting the reader to see the cover is not considered sufficient per WP:FREER or NFCC#8 because the file can be removed without being detrimental to the reader's understanding in anyway. There is no specific commentary about this cover art anywhere to be found in the article, and the reader does not need to see it to understand that the centre is involved in various research projects.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:13, 21 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

The above also applies to File:Gender and Narative in the Mahabharata.jpg. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:14, 21 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:59, 17 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed page for S.B. Keshava Swami

edit

Hare Krishna!

I came to notice you have contributed towards a lot of Hinduism-related articles on Wikipedia.

I am a well-wisher of His Holiness S.B. Keshava Swami, and was eagerly hoping he gets a Wikipedia page soon. With all his reach and work, I think he is super notable, more than enough to merit his own Wikipedia page.

He is doing some amazing work too, so a Wikipedia page would also help those who search about him learn more and better.

I was wondering if someone like you could create S.B. Keshava Swami's Wikipedia page? It would be a great service and impactful too. I am a new user, so thought I would humbly write to someone more experienced and request them to do it.

I know there is a team of volunteers who look after his website. Maybe if you contacted them, they would also be able to give you lots of references and links which they have collected over time. I have previously been in touch with them and they are quite good. Their email address can be found on the website.

Thank you for considering my request. Hare Krishna! FreedomAndHappiness (talk) 23:55, 31 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
