Western Swing to Jazz
editWestern swing is listed under the category Jazz genres and was an outgrowth of jazz. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:C7:C201:C640:F47E:5B35:8067:73AA (talk) 02:46, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- You are correct, but seeing as it's already listed as a genre of Template:Country_music and described as "a subgenre of American country music", it makes sense to consider it as related, but distinct, from the various subgenres of Jazz. TimSmit (talk) 02:55, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Rockysmile11. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Momoland, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Rockysmile11(talk) 02:10, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- I appreciate your interest, but the purpose of my edit was just to improve the existing citations. I will defer to you and the original editor regarding the reliability of those sources. TimSmit (talk) 02:22, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

editHi. After seeing your addition in Gojira discography, I saw that you provide the articles with YouTube sources. One, maybe two in an article can be ok, but not as much quantity. Read the content of Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, especially about Youtube. Also Twitter. Oroborvs (talk) 18:31, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hello! Thanks for your interest on my recent edit on Gojira discography. The goal of most of my edits is not to add new sources, but rather to improve the quality of existing citations to avoid WP:bare URLs and link rot. You are correct that in many situations, it's not appropriate or at least non-ideal to add self-published sources to an article. By all means, please feel free to remove the sources which you've found to be inappropriate. TimSmit (talk) 19:00, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

Archived link
editHi, can you take a look at this archived url and see if its correct? The link doesn't work here. Thanks in advance. [1] Semsûrî (talk) 11:50, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, that link is broken because the forward slash after ".org" is missing. I just migrated some scripts to Python and it looks like I have a bug that occurs whenever an archive URL is converted from http to https. Thank you for pointing this out, I fixed the bug and I'll make sure the articles are fixed too. TimSmit (talk) 15:23, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
MOSNUM date script
editHey. I saw you just made an edit on Limited Run Games to unify all of the dates on the MDY standard. If you made that edit by hand, you might be interested in User:Ohconfucius/script/MOSNUM dates, which if you add it to per the instructions will add two buttons to your Tools sidebar to do this sort of thing with a single click :) Sideswipe9th (talk) 03:36, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know! I am using a script to automate those edits, although I still review each one briefly before publishing. I will check out that script as well since it could be useful. My script takes a more conservative approach which should avoid false positives but it probably doesn't cover as many situations. TimSmit (talk) 03:41, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
