Request reason:
I logged in this morning to hopefully improve some articles and found out that I’ve been blocked for UPE. Seriously? That’s how things are done here? I sincerely think this is as a result of taking the judgement of older contributors into play, I have done nothing wrong at all! The only not so notable article I've made is Harold Okwa & Ugo Monye — which they said was notable at Wikiproject Nigeria—, the rest are notable. If I actually understand the meaning of notability, when a certain person, organization, place or thing has reliable sources covering it, then it's a go. And being tagged with UPE is something that still amuse me. I was blocked for advertisement and self promotion. My name is Timileyin Olalere! Have I added my name in article or edits I've done so far? I do not think I have. I only have 3 articles moved to mainspace without the all knowing Celestina moving them back to Draft. Nasir Yammama has won several awards which can be googled. These awards include Queens Young Awards by Queen Elizabeth, Innovation Training by Sir Brandon and others. And as per WP:ANYBIO, he is notable, so? Harold Okwa, has won awards from YNaija, Forbes, and Business Day and also as per the same ANYBIO, he is notable. Ronke Bamisedun? Hers is something I've not even had the time to count and I believe google can bring this up. Ugo Monye has coverages and had also won awards from Craft and Grit and Fashion Awards and has coverages from The Guardian, BBC, The Sun Newspaper, etc. Doesn't that keep him at bay at least? and I don't think we'd want to talk about Leah Sharibu. She has coverages from any reliable news source you can think about. A quick search about her will bring something out, won't it? and besides, Boko Haram has her in custody. So, even if I'm been paid to make her biography (which is the last biography I made), who paid me? Reno Omokri? The former British secretary? Her parents? and please don't tell that Boko Haram also pay people to make Wikipages about their hostages. I'm relatively new here and I don't think I've made any edit that goes against the T & C of Wikipedia and if I had done any, then it's regretted but I would love if it will be pointed out, so that I'll read and understand properly so as not to make any mistakes in the future. I left the Wikiproject Nigeria cuz Celestina mentioned an admin on my talk page to block me some few days unfortunately for her, after conducting his Investigations he found out I was not guilty of the charges. When someone volunteers to join Wikipedia to make articles about what he knows and it gets deleted, it doesn't really make sense to me. MER-C, if I am to get blocked, then a valid reason for blocking needs to be stated cuz I can't see any at the moment except someone telling you that I'm a suspected UPE then as the ALMIGHTY ADMIN, you use your ALMIGHTY TOOLS on me. Happy Christmas, Timi (talk) 07:18, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
The editor's contribution history and off-wiki evidence strongly indicate that this editor is editing in tandem with a sockfarm to perform covert paid editing. signed, Rosguill talk 22:38, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Timi, would you be willing to accept a conditional unblock, where you would be allowed to edit Wikipedia again so long as you refrain from editing any biographical content related to currently living people or currently active companies? This way, you would be able to edit constructively in areas that are not prone to COI/UPE editing. signed, Rosguill talk 20:25, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Having reviewed this case more thoroughly alongside off-wikipedia evidence, I no longer see reason to give you the benefit of the doubt and will be declining this unblock request. signed, Rosguill talk 22:37, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Lol. Off-wiki evidence that can be made by someone? Lol. Wikipedia. Happy Christmas people. I guess I’ll need another hobby, Timi (talk) 19:53, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
