I understand what you mean TipToety, but every IP edit has been from the same group of school kids adding stuff about themselves (20 on the first page of history alone). It's going to take forever for all their IP addresses to get up to final warning, and even then they'll only be blocked for at most, a couple of days or weeks, and simply use another computer. Do you have any suggestions for how we can fix this? I flirted with the idea of contacting the school, but then I thought that might be a bit stalker-ish. What do you think? Thanks, Somno (talk) 04:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- I hear where you are coming from, and i encourage you to request protection again if vandalism returns to the article. One way that you can address this issue is by filing an abuse report on the IP. An abuse report is where users contact the owner/operator of the IP in question and try and solve the issue that way, otherwise just keep reverting and reporting to WP:AIV. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 04:55, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I didn't know about Abuse Reports. I'll check that out and perhaps compile a case with all their various IP addresses. I keep hoping the kids will get bored and move on, but it's becoming a long-term thing to keep adding their names to the lists of notable people and city officials. Thanks! How is replacing the name of someone's spouse with "gerbil" a content dispute?--Dycedarg ж 19:57, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Deleted radio lists
Hi,
Could you please restore the following radio station lists?
List of radio stations in Los Angeles, List of radio stations in San Francisco, List of radio stations in San Diego, List of radio stations in Riverside and San Bernardino, List of radio stations in San Jose, List of radio stations in Fresno, List of radio stations in Bakersfield, List of radio stations in Visalia, List of radio stations in Modesto, List of radio stations in Ventura County, List of radio stations in Santa Rosa, List of radio stations in the Victor Valley, List of radio stations in Palm Springs, List of radio stations in San Luis Obispo, List of radio stations in Merced, List of radio stations in Chico, List of radio stations in California by market area
These lists organize radio stations exactly the way the radio industry does, by Arbitron market. These lists also contain information, such as branding, owners and formats which have not been included in the List of radio stations in California which was claimed to have "deprecated" these lists. RadioStationWorld is another source which organizes radio stations by market areas. While these lists were admittedly incomplete, I have intended to work on them to fill them out, but I have been on extended wikibreak due to more pressing work and life priorities. Thank you. DHowell (talk) 08:51, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I am willing to provide you with copies of the deleted material which you can then recreate as you see appropriate, though I would recommend that you merge some of the lists together to avoid a future PROD tag being placed on them (or even an AfD for that matter). Tiptoety talk 15:13, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Those copies can be found here. Tiptoety talk 15:30, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

- Hey, I just thought I'd tell you, I've changed my mind. I'm going to do the above article to improve as a 24 article, I'm adding references as was asked, even though I think it's ridiculous. And im removing the excessive info next to the characters, such as what they did in each day etc. It's not necessary. Would improving that article qualify? Also can you post a {{talkback}} template on my page? Thanks. And im at 4300+ edits now :) Steve Crossin (talk) 03:54, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yep, that article is just fine. All my requirements where is that you significantly edit an article of your interest. 4300+ ooo.... you are getting so close to graduating! :P Tiptoety talk 03:56, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Very well then. It will take me maybe an hour to find citations for all of them. I'm trying to find newspaper articles, but if worst comes to worst, can I use IMDB? After I've added citations, I'll remove the tag, then can you review it, and tell me if its OK? Steve Crossin (talk) 03:59, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yea, that is alright. Are you going to be doing any other work on the article, other than finding references that is? Tiptoety talk 04:01, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, as I said, there is some excessive info in the article. If you check the articles edit history, you will see I've removed some excessive info. Also, I've got a question. If you use a citation more than once, how do you do that? Steve Crossin (talk) 04:05, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. If you look here it shows you how to. Tiptoety talk 04:09, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, that seems simple enough. I think I'm going OK, what do you think? And, also, I should have my 5000 edits by the end of the day, if not then, it will be within 24 hours, easily. I apparently have a case of WP:ECT. How do you think the article I'm editing is going? :)
- Looks good, one suggestion would be to place brackets "[external link]" around the external links in the references, it just looks better. Tiptoety talk 04:27, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean at the bottom of the page? Could you show me exactly what you mean? As in, paste the code in here, with the nowiki tags :) Steve Crossin (talk) 04:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- No at the references at the bottom, but in the actual ref itself, i noticed that you did not place brackets around it, hence why you can see the whole URL code at the bottom in the reference section. If that is not clear, let me know. Tiptoety talk 04:32, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, that. Lol. I know exactly what you mean now. I've fixed that :) Thanks.Steve Crossin (talk) 04:37, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have a question, I'm a little concerned. Currently, in the article, I'm removing the description next to each character, as I believe they are unnecessary, as it's really just a basic list. Can you look at the edit summaries and tell me if I should keep each characters descriptions? I just think they are unnecessary. Steve Crossin (talk) 05:22, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I do not see any issue with it. Though I would recommend that you leave a not on the talk page of the article stating what you are doing and why, that way other editors who watch that page can give their thoughts on it as well. Tiptoety talk 05:42, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Can you have a look at the article and tell me what you think of it? Are there enough references? Or are more needed? Not enough references is the tag on the article that is an issue. Steve Crossin (talk) 07:37, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
RE:Rollback
Hi there, thanks for pointing that out. I've actually had rollback for some time, but it was recently removed (I haven't bothered to update my userspace as hopefully it will be back soon :-). The comment from Ral315 was the result of a request for the situation to be reviewed on IRC. I've actually been looking for someone else to review the reasons and such (all on AzaToth's talk page) - I'm sure AzaToth will reinstate it when they get back online, it's just a pain doing it the TW way in the mean time. Cheers, Pumpmeup 06:01, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- So I guess that's a no for giving it back - I don't think I'll bother to remove it (it involves messing with my userspace I finally got just nice) - several admins have said they will give it back in the near future anyway :-). Cheers, Pumpmeup 06:08, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sweet as. I won't be removing it - I can display the box on my userpage even if I never have it. Thanks for your understanding :-) --Pumpmeup 06:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Just got your message after posting there. I believe there's not (don't ask me for a link, I can't remember where I found this info). I had a similar issue with a user on the Commons and recall that the Wikipedia policy was similar, that a logo or userbox is not an "official thing" (only the user right's log is). Anyway it will be interesting to find out. Cheers, Pumpmeup 06:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

- Now, one other thing. We were discussing Admin Coaching. What would you suggest? And, for the record, do you think you would ever support me in an RFA? :P Steve Crossin (talk) 15:40, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- You are very welcome, it was a pleasure. I highly recommend that you do admin coaching, to request a coach add your name to this page. Also I would be willing to support you in an RfA, but in the very distant future. Cheers, and best of luck. Tiptoety talk 15:43, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've just checked the Admin Coaching program. It says here the guideline for starting an Admin Coaching, number of active months on Wikipedia, as 4 months. It says if you do not meet these requirements, consider Adoption. But I've already been adopted. What would you suggest? Steve Crossin (talk) 15:53, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, the reason that they send you back to the adoption program is that by the time users relieve there is a adoption or admin coach program they usually already have 3 months under their belt. My recommendation is that you wait until you have 4 months experience, contribute to many areas of the project then request coaching. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 16:03, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, well, I could always round myself out. As in, get more involved with XFDs, with the Help Desk. I also want to help fix linkrot, there is a massive backlog there, but I'm confused with how to use this tool. Which is a shame, if I knew how to do this sort of stuff, I could contribute more. And I think I will try working on my task list a bit more, those articles are not going to rewrite themselves :P. But, I think they might make an exception if I met all the other criteria. The page said that not meeting one of those criteria does not necessarily rule you out of the program. :) Steve Crossin (talk) 16:10, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, working around some project space is good. I am not sure which tool you are referring to, otherwise I would help you. Tiptoety talk 18:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

RE: Huggle on AndonicO
Thanks for the heads up on my edit count but I checked and that was total edits, I can't apply for Huggle until I've got more than 1000 mainspace edits (I've got about 360 at the moment) and a good history of using another programme on WP. WHilst I'm firmly in the number of edits does not a good user make camp, it's a problem with the sytem which cannott be changed on this one unfortunately. BigHairRef | Talk 17:50, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Rollback rights
Hi, I am User:Abrech and I am currently often engaged in fighting Vandalism. Is it already possible for me to be granted rollback rights? It would make it a lot easier for me to carry on fighting Vandals. I know my editcount is not extremely high yet. However, I hope my edits show already now that there is no risk I would abuse such extended right. Kind regards, --Abrech (talk) 16:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Dj Perry: hoax?
Yo, you commented in an edit summary that the article Dj Perry was "obviously a hoax". Would you care to elaborate? скоморохъ 18:01, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I was simply stating that while the article asserted notability it still appeared to be a hoax and that it should be taken to AfD opposed to speedily deleted. Hope that clears it up, Tiptoety talk 19:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Regarding deletionof WhipKraft
Dear Tiptoety,
I am writing in regard to your deletion of the SF band WhipKraft. I am confused as to why a band like this would be deleted? Being quite familiar with all kinds of music and having written books about metal bands especially the underground genre, this band had quite a bearing on the SF community and still does. In addition to my books, this band has been written about by other editors in two published books, which you can do a search on amazon.
Your input is very welcome. Thank you ZZ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zzstore (talk • contribs) 21:22, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- It was deleted due to an AfD which can be found here where the consensus was to delete. The article lacked reputable third party, or even secondly sources and failed notability guidelines set forth in WP:MUSIC. Hope that clears it up, Tiptoety talk 22:06, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Mercaz HaRav shooting
Hi. Why did you protect the page? There was absolutly no edit warring going on. Each move was accepted.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 00:35, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Show me where each move was accepted? Looking at the talk page it does not show that, it shows a discussion taking place about the name of the article, but no consensus on what that name should be. The page was moved 4 times in one hour. Tiptoety talk 00:38, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- The moves are typical for new events articles where the best name isn't always given right away. Pages should only be protected if there is edit warring going on, and there is no such sort going on. Best, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 00:46, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Per Wikipedia:Protection policy "Pages subject to a page name dispute" may be move protected, and with the page moved 3 times in a row it appears there is a minor page name dispute that would be better resolved on the talk page. Anyways it is only protected for two days. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 00:49, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Whipkrfat
I read through the WP:MUSIC and realized that indeed the band meets 2 of the criteria regarding notability which at least one of them can be proved through doing a google search. I don't know what was listed initially as the sources on this page, since I did not look. But that was something that could have easily been fixed. I don't agree with the common consensus of deletion, as I often see these types of actions taken upon bands that are to say the least "unconventional." And this is of an concern to me. I would like to ask you for the page to be restored, as of course, with the need to reestablish the sources for proper documentation. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zzstore (talk • contribs) 01:28, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, if you think you can improve it that will be great. I have placed a copy of it here where you may make edits and changes in hopes to improve it there, then once it is ready be placed back into article space. Cheers. Tiptoety talk 01:32, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Reliable Source?
- Hello, I've been working rather hard recently. I've also learned how to use the Linkrot fixing tool, which is handy, I've been voting in XFDs and I've helped out with some articles requiring Wikifying. Anyway, that's not why I am here. I'm here to ask, Can the "24 Official Magazine" be used as a source for references? It's a magazine made by Titan Magazines, and I wish to use it as it has many official cast interviews that could be used to rewrite articles , such as Karen Hayes, and help portray them in an out-of-universe perspective, eg the character's characteristics, as told by the actors that portray them. I really hope I can use this source, otherwise a lot of valuable information goes out the window. What do you think? Steve Crossin (talk) 01:51, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, it just can not be called a third party source, because well it is the 24 official magazine. Tiptoety talk 01:55, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- So, just confirming, I can use it as a source? If so, then that is wonderful. I will be able to wipe out a lot of information, and I will attempt to rewrite the articles to more describe the characteristics of the characters, etc, as told by the actor. Steve Crossin (talk) 02:01, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes you can use it as a source. Happy article writing. Tiptoety talk 02:16, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

My RfB
I wanted to personally thank you, Tiptoety, for your participation in my recent RfB. I have heard the community's voice that they require more of a presence at RfA's of prospective bureaucrats, and I will do my best over the near future to demonstrate such a presence and allow the community to see my philosophy and practices in action. I am thankful and appreciative that in general, the community feels that I am worthy of the trust it requires of its bureaucrats, and I hope to continue to behave in a way that maintains your trust in me and my actions. I hope that over the near future, you will become comfortable and satisfied with my understanding of the particulars and subtleties inherent in the RfA process, and that I may be able to count on your support when I decide to once again undergo an RfB. If you have any suggestions, comments, or constructive criticisms, please let me know via talkpage or e-mail. Thank you again. -- Avi (talk) 17:22, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Pseudoscience discretionary sanctions
Hi! As somebody who commented on a January proposal to place all articles related to homeopathy on article probation, I would greatly appreciate your input on a new proposal to help combat disruption that would scrap the probation and implement discretionary sanctions. I apologize for any intrusion, but this is to my knowledge the first time sanctions of this nature have been attempted to be enforced by the community, so I feel that a wide range of opinions is necessary. Thank you in advance for any comments you may make. east718 (talk) 18:59, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Travel Wiki
- Hey, I've been working on Travel Wiki alot recently. Also, I got an admin coach, the program co-ordinator took me on as a student, and they wavered my account age as an issue :) On another note, I am emailing you now regarding the Travel Wiki. Steve Crossin (talk) 19:57, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Old Buildings and Pictures
Greetings from WP:WikiProject Oregon. Blah blah blah. This week we have our semi-annual Picture Drive and a article creation drive for the NRHP List. For the picture drive, go take a picture, or find a free use one (lots of links to gov sites above) and upload it Wikipedia. For the National Register of Historic Places, find a red link on the main Oregon list or one of the county lists at start a new article. If its more than just a stub, don’t forget to nominate it for a DYK! Once again, to opt out or suggest future collaborative efforts, click here. Aboutmovies (talk) 20:01, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Please consider adoption
Hi, I know you're not currently accepting adoptee's, but I ask you to please consider being my adopter. I have dont fairly extensive research on the adopters, and you seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. It seems you are very serious about adopting, and I love that you have lesson plans. If you decide not to accept me, that's fine, but I really hope you can consider it. Thanks! Voyaging (talk) 21:57, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- While I appreciate your kind words, I respectfully have to decline at this time. Please understand it has nothing to do with you, and more with me. At this time in my personal life I have very little time between school, work, family, and wikipedia. I have just graduated an adoptee from my program and need a short brake. How about this, in around two weeks things will be clearing up for me, allowing more time to work here and at that time would be happy to adopt you. I completely understand if you need an adopter now and choose to ask someone else. Cheers, Tiptoety talk 02:32, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your consideration! I'd be glad to wait two weeks. I don't want to make your life any more hectic than it is now. Take yout time and get things ordered, then adopt me whenever you feel ready. Thanks again! Voyaging (talk) 03:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

My request for bureaucratship
Dear Tiptoety, thank you for taking part in my RfB. As you may know, it was not passed by bureaucrats.
I would, however, like to thank you for taking the time to voice your support, despite concerns cited by the opposition. Although RfA/B isn't really about a person, but more about the community, I was deeply touched and honoured by the outpouring of support and interest in the discussion. I can only hope that you don't feel your opinion was not considered enough - bureaucrats have to give everyone's thoughts weight.
I also hope that the results of this RfB lead to some change in the way we approach RfBs, and some thought about whether long-entrenched standards are a good thing in our growing and increasingly heterogenous community.
I was a little miserable after the results came out, so I'm going to spread the love via dancing hippos. As you do. :)
I remain eager to serve you as an administrator and as an editor. If at any point you see something problematic in my actions, please do not hesitate to call me out. ~ Riana ⁂ 11:52, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Travel Wiki
- You have email. Steve Crossin (talk) 03:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Great, thanks for moving that to my user space. I'm fixing the templates on Travel Guide Wiki, and also, I've noticed there is no Vandalism policy on TGW. I think one should be drafted up. What do you think? And, also, what do you think of the new vandalism templates? With the modifications of the stop hand nuvola image? I thought it a good idea. Steve Crossin (talk) 23:48, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, just letting you know, I've fixed all the templates that I'm aware of, and as far as I can see, no more images/templates have black backgrounds. Should I draft some policies? Feel free to reply in an email. Steve Crossin (talk) 00:40, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
What's the amount of vandalism needed?
re: this decline, how much is needed? Either a user or a bot is reverting unconstructive nonsense a couple of times a day? Just curious TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 01:11, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Take a look at WP:PROT, that might help a bit. But pretty much, there needs to be at least 3 vandalism reverts a day to protect, and they need to be all from different IP's, because if they are all from one IP then why not just block the IP? If the vandalism gets any worse than it is right now, then request protection again. Hope that helps, Tiptoety talk 01:15, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, got it. I guess I was just surprised that one would be turned down when both have been vandalized semi-regularly. I'll request it again if it gets worse, or hope the IPs get bored. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 01:36, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I need an admin to look at User:Huggle's contribs. I don't know what to do about him. J.delanoygabsadds 22:56, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hm..not seeing the problem. Is it that he has made edits to pages other than Huggle related ones? Tiptoety talk 23:00, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- no, he keeps redirecting pages to the main huggle page, and he refuses to say why, even when another user asked him to say why he's doing it. I do not know what he is trying to do, and the reason why I panicked is because he was making edits so fast. J.delanoygabsadds 23:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
