Just to let you know there is no reason to go through and change every link of Plymouth, England → Plymouth. Both of these link to the same page. A new name 2008 (talk) 13:58, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

- Please leave Danny Taylor's place of birth as Plymouth, England. The rest of the Reading Royals' roster uses complete links to the city and state or city and country. So please don't change the formatting. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 09:26, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Below is the message that appears when I try to edit an article.
You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
Your user name or IP address has been blocked. The block was made by Spellcast.
The reason given is This IP address has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy or zombie computer. To prevent abuse, these proxies may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If your ISP has misconfigured its proxy, you can try bypassing it by logging into Wikimedia's secure gateway at https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/. For more information about open proxies and what you can do, please see the WikiProject on open proxies. (Multi-RBL lookup • Sandbox test edit) . Start of block: 01:57, 25 November 2008 Expiry of block: 01:57, 25 November 2013 Intended blockee: 209.34.168.36 You can contact Spellcast or another administrator to discuss the block. You cannot use the 'e-mail this user' feature unless a valid e-mail address is specified in your account preferences and you have not been blocked from using it. Please include all above details in any queries you make. You can view and copy the source of this page:
- I will notify the blocking admin of your request. FWIW, I was unable to find any open ports on your IP address, so I think it may be possible Spellcast blocked the wrong one. J.delanoygabsadds 16:43, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
So that the relevant facts are known to all, I would add that his statement "I have done nothing wrong" is not completely true. "I have done nothing wrong on this account" would be more accurate, since this is the latest sock of banned User:Bsrboy. He's editing from proxies because his main IP range is currently hard-blocked. Having said that, it appears that the other admins who are aware of this account and his past have been doing the same as me, namely IAR, letting him continue to edit as long as he's benefiting the encyclopedia. —SMALLJIM 20:14, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- I was wondering when you would pop up. My hard range block runs out at 20:17, 22 December 2008. It's been blocked since July/August. Surely following the Sceptre incident, a one month shortening won't do any harm? Tis the season to be jolly (talk) 21:01, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- As long as you run good hand/bad hand accounts and IPs (which you have a long history of), I endorse the block. 64.18.144.131 (talk · contribs) is a web proxy IP you've recently used and 209.34.168.36 (talk · contribs) is a likely one too. This account is directly blocked anyway. Spellcast (talk) 01:09, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- I see consensus, among the admins who've been involved in this case, that a community BAN is not mitigated by work done towards GA (e.g. here) while evading that ban. On the other hand, I don't believe that there's any need to energetically check up on every new editor that pops up and does nothing but make beneficial edits without drawing attention to themselves. Others may disagree with that opinion, of course.
- I think the issue of lengthening the range block because of the ban evasions can be left till nearer its expiry. —SMALLJIM 12:34, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Please don't lengthen my hard range block. Jim is the only one with common sense aimed at improving the encyclopedia. Tis the season to be jolly (talk) 17:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- For the record, I don't have a problem with your article work. But at the same time, I can't support anyone who switches between good edits and vandalism over a long period. Spellcast (talk) 23:19, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
