Tobias "Profit" Smith is an American filmmaker, music producer and songwriter. He is known professionally as "Profit" in music production and songwriting circles. He co-produced and self distributed the critically acclaimed documentary "The Cotton Pickin' Truth... Still on the Plantation" featuring comedian / human rights activist, Dick Gregory, and former slave, Mae Louise Miller in 2009. The documentary has since became a classic amongst documentary film lovers and is available on Amazon Prime.

In 2021, Profit worked on Ye's (formely Kanye West) Donda album as a writer on "Hurricane" featuring The Weekend,"Ok Ok", "Off The Grid", and "Heaven and Hell." Tobias also performed sound design on the lead guitar for "Jail" featuring Jay-Z. Profit was born and raised on the south side of Chicago by his dad, Tim Smith, before moving to Detroit in 1997 at age 14.
