You might find this set of short tutorial pages helpful, it covers why references are important, what sorts of references are OK to use on Wikipedia, as well as how to actually add the reference to an article. Feature news
- AbuseFilter editors and maintainers can now make a CAPTCHA show if a filter matches an edit. This allows communities to quickly respond to spamming by automated bots. [1]
- Stewards can now specify if global blocks should prevent account creation. Before this change by the Trust and Safety Product Team, all global blocks would prevent account creation. This will allow stewards to reduce the unintended side-effects of global blocks on IP addresses.
Project updates
- Nominations are open on Wikitech for new members to refresh the Toolforge standards committee. The committee oversees the Toolforge Right to fork policy and Abandoned tool policy among other duties. Nominations will remain open until at least 2024-08-26.
- One new wiki has been created: a Wikipedia in West Coast Bajau (

- (talk page watcher) Hello, Tshirelecokarabo, I'm Mathglot. Brand new users will find writing a biography a difficult task to tackle at this early stage. I would concentrate on learning how to make smaller edits in existing articles first; see your homepage for some ideas. Once you gain some experience, and Wikipedia terms like Notability, Reliable sources, and WP:BLP are familiar to you, then have a look at Help:Your first article for more details about how to go about writing a new article about someone. Sandboxed changes to uw-v1 re contributions phrase
Hi, Tollens, and thanks for the ping at Talk header. Not sure if you are interested in the multilevel user-warning templates, but I made a proposal here about a proposed change to the text about user contributions, and sandboxed it in {{uw-vandalism1/sandbox}}, in case you feel like commenting.
