Your edits to June 23

Hi Tom H., and welcome to Wikipedia. I reverted your recent edit about a Canadian general election on the page June 23 because that event is repetitive rather than one time (elections happen every few years at set time in Canada) and peaceful rather than unexpected (not like a military coup or a seizure of power). If we include this event, then to be consistent we'd have to include all results of all Canadaian elections, elections in the United States, etc, as well as other events that occur every few years, such as the Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup, and many more. In short, the event pages would become over-crowded and the real one-time events would be put on a back burner. The proposed policy for the types of events that should be included on Wikicalendar pages is here: Wikipedia:Notability on a global scale over time. Waterloo Municipalities.

For consistency, we keep all CSD's in Canada at "name, province" unless they are really important (like, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa and Quebec City). Since Wilmot and Wellesley are both CSDs (just like Kingston, Ontario or Leamington, Ontario or Atikokan, Ontario (also a TWP btw) ) they remain at Wellesley, Ontario and Wilmot, Ontario. -- Earl Andrew - talk 23:40, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Categories

Hello. Just to let you know, Wikipedia has certain rules around the application of categories to articles. Namely, you shouldn't file an article such as Toronto Eaton Centre in category:Buildings and structures in Toronto if it's already in category:Shopping malls in Toronto, because "Shopping malls in Toronto" is already a subcategory of "Buildings and structures in Toronto". The rule is that an article is only filed in the narrowest appropriate categories; the category is then subcategorized in wider categories. I hope that helps.
