editHello, I'm Serge, an admin here on Wikipedia. When adding content to Wikipedia, you always need to add a reliable source that verifies the info added/changed. So when you're adding comments like "(Game) was the last released in/on (region/platform)", you need a source to prove it's true.
See WP:REFB if you need help with doing that, but please know that not adding sources isn't an option, and you're account may be eventually blocked from editing if you don't stop. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 18:45, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
- Making sure you saw this, as you've continued to do this after I left this warning earlier. If you dont stop, then I'll be forced to temporarily block your account from editing. Please stop. Sergecross73 msg me 19:32, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, you're blocked for 36 hours. Sergecross73 msg me 22:13, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
- I won't make edits like that again. I found out something like that on Codex Gamicus later that night anyway. Also about The Lost World released on PAL Mega Drives, some others believe that FIFA 98: Road to World Cup may actually be the last game on that system in that region since the release month and date are unknown. - You need sources to make the claim on Wikipedia. And that's exactly why it's often not already present on Wikipedia - it's not often reliable sources point these things out. Sergecross73 msg me 17:55, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- It's past 36 hours isn't it? and why am I still blocked? I didn't mean to add those info on those games, I should find out some other reliable sources now. I am only new to Wikipedia early this year. Please don't tell me that it's permeant. ToriBoy200072 (talk) 20:08, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- You shouldn't be blocked anymore. I'm not seeing anything that says you're blocked currently either. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:09, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- I mean permanent, sorry about that typo. ToriBoy200072 (talk) 20:09, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- In fact, you were unblocked today at 10:13 UTC based on what I"m seeing in the block log (you were blocked for 36 hours, so 1 1/2 days) ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:13, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Apparently it's my IP Address that has been blocked now. I also found it this morning when I decided to edit the "Common Resolutions list" without my account on my dad's iMac instead of my own PC. ToriBoy200072 (talk) 20:24, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- It's not recommended to edit while logged out once you have an account, mainly because it can count as sockpuppetry, but it also can reveal where you live based on the location of your IP. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:28, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah! I see what you mean. Sockpuppetry can confuse people into thinking it's somebody else. Also are you saying that IP Addresses can also reveal Home Addresses. That's horrifying! I don't want to get hacked or robbed? ToriBoy200072 (talk) 20:33, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Eh, it won't show you that far (or at least, not to my knowledge). Usually the most exact place it will tell you is the city you live in. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:46, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Okay. But guess what. I contacted about the blocked IP and now I can edit again. ToriBoy200072 (talk) 20:49, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
