Okay, it looks like you have everything done except a better free use rationale on the image i mentioned. look at other GA articles rationales and you can fit yours to that. Once that is done let me know on my talk page and Ill pass it. GroundZ3R0 002 05:33, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

I decided to fix it myself because it was taking so long. Anyways congrats it passed GroundZ3R0 002 00:23, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Stress o'clock

My RL work deadline is 3 March. I just flit in and flit out of WP when I can at the moment. Happy to look after that date, so if you decide to wait, please remind me then. Tony (talk) 02:01, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Cheers. No rush; I'll see if I remember myself. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 02:18, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
It's pretty well-written on the clause level. However, two issues emerge to me from my reading of the first part: (1) some things are taken for granted and may not be understood by readers (because you're very close to the topic); and (2) there's a lot of humdrum information about dates of performances and what it was paired with, when, before we come to the interesting stuff. I wonder whether it would work to push those details further down (below "Themes"?) and just summarise that information in a few sentences in the lead. Possibly the cast might go further down, too.

A few things from the top:

  • The Little Theatre comes out of the blue in the lead: the readers will have to wait until the main text to find out why it gave Fielding those advantages? Perhaps "The blah and blah [qualities] of the Little Theatre—the venue for the play—allowed him to experiment ...".
  • "... was a critical success", but then we're told it was largely ignored by theatre critics for hundreds of years? Seems contradictory, so perhaps a change of wording to remove the tension? And "its effect on Fielding's career" ... positive effect? I guess it's clear from the previous statements in the lead, though.
  • "the focus on turning a profit and the debasing of the literary public with new genres"—that making a profit from theatre was satirisable might not be clear to a 21st-century reader. I wonder why new genres might debase the public ... perhaps that, too, needs to be placed in context.
  • advertisements ... advertised ... advertisement. Can the first be "notices"?
  • "highER ticket prices" ... just "high" is comparative enough? Otherwise, I'm wondering whether it's higher than something specific, such as the immediately preceding play.... And perhaps "suggesting that much public interest in seeing the play was anticipated".
  • "after it was revived"—sorry, I'm getting lost: which one is "it"? Tony (talk) 08:09, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

The Author's Farce FAC

I hope you don't think I'm meddling, but I know how hard Ottava (and others including you, of course) have worked on this article, so I'd really like to see it get that little bronze star. If I change too much, or you don't agree with anything I've done, then just revert it and tell me to keep my ignorant nose out. I'm no literary buff. Malleus Fatuorum 19:35, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

If I started calling godsends "meddling," I'm fairly certain that I'd get absolutely no work done around here. Your work is nothing but amazing. Seriously, thank you for all your help. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 21:22, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
So let's do it then. Malleus Fatuorum 22:08, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:15, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Short forms

Probably best to change instances of the short form "Flo" to "Floquenbeam" or "Floq" as "Flo" is ambiguous given there is an arbitrator named "FloNight" (sometimes referred to as Flo). –xenotalk 14:24, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Question

Yesterday you had referenced me to WP:Caps. how does this work if the headline itself is in caps? Hell In A Bucket (talk) 17:10, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Headlines don't need to be exact duplicates of the actual titles. Remove the caps; the information does not change. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 17:43, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok just checking. I've reformatted them a few times so hopefully this will be the last one. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 18:00, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh, and stuff like "The area was dangerous at the end of the 1800's." with a ref citing a robbery is quite likely original research or synthesis. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 14:05, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually that's one of the reasons I put the link in there The union Ave was actually a pretty baad place to be, it was the location of the Hanging Tree, Bars and Whorehouses. I'm trying to make sure the local lore is in there as long as I can find sourcing. [[1]] is not original research but It might help to find some more references. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 14:11, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
But there's no source directly stating "The area was dangerous at the end of the 1800's." What you can cite from the reference given is that one robbery occurred; not a generalized statement about danger. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 14:19, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
That makes a lot more sense. Thank you for pointing that out I will see if I can find anything furthur. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 14:24, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok another question if you wouldn't mind assisting me. I'm going to work on the references tomorrow but I have owkred on revampling the lead in so I'm hoping that this fixes that issue. Again sorry to bug. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 05:58, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Now it's completely unorganized; no sections at all. As a quick tip, the lead should adequately summarize the rest of the article without introducing an new facts. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 17:52, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks muchly for these! —Ed (talkmajestic titan) 05:53, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Re: Spice and Wolf

Sure, that sounds good. It would also be nice if we could cite the director/scenario writer for each episode too. Plus, the lead isn't finished and the refs need a slight cleanup.-- 03:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, no idea where to find that information. I'll do some digging later, but right now I'm going to finish fixing up the episode summaries, which may take a fair bit of time. I'll take a look at the lead after I finish the episode summaries. Let me know specific concerns (like the director/scenario writer); I'd be happy to look into those sorts of problems. Cheers, ɳOCTURNEɳOIR 03:41, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
I copyedited the refs and added more to the lead, such as BD/DVD release info, and updated the image (hope you don't mind); you can change it back to the original Japanese release if you want. Also, the directors/writers are on the official websites here and here. I'll get right to adding them in.-- 04:54, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
New image looks fine to me, as does the rest of your work. If I remember correctly, the old version should be deleted, but I simply can't find the template for it, so I guess I'll flag down an administrator or hope one is stalking my talkpage... ɳOCTURNEɳOIR 04:59, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Hah, thanks Ed. By the way, what happened to the formatting on your sig? ɳOCTURNEɳOIR 05:05, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Removed it a couple days ago. I've had the red for a longgg time (more than a year and a half!), so I thought it might be time to go back to something that's mostly normal. :-)  Ed (talkmajestic titan) 07:03, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Mmkay. At least the red drew my eyes. Had a touch of trouble finding out who my admin TPS was for a moment, to be honest. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR 14:12, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, maybe I'll alter the font then. Thanks for the feedback!  Ed (talkmajestic titan) 16:35, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I can't do the directors. The names listed on the official websites are not all the directors that were credited in the credits of the episodes themselves. I'm not sure we could do it from taking them from the episode credits, but even if we could, that's a lot of extra work, and a lot of FLs don't supply the animation directors anyway, so I don't think they're essential.-- 08:02, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

We'll just skip it then. As you said, it's unessential and generally can't be cited properly. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR 14:12, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

The Author's Farce

If I may make a suggestion, I think a little light pruning is needed before another FAC. Ottava had a tendency to overegg the pudding slightly, and one of the points that Moni3 made was quite telling; if a contemporary reader can't relate to some of the allusions, then really, what's their purpose? If they need copious notes to explain, then are they really all that helpful or relevant? Reading through the article again, in parts I'm reminded more of a PhD thesis than I am of an encyclopedia article trying to explain the play to a 20th-century audience. Just my 2p though, do with it as you will. Malleus Fatuorum 21:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I personally agree with you, but Ottava thinks the exact opposite. I suppose a fair consensus stands to simplify, but I will sleep on it for a few more days before moving forward again. Thanks. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR 13:37, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Well whatever Ottava thinks, this won't get through FAC #3 in its present form. I've started making a few changes in the Plot section, and they're fairly typical of what I think needs to be done throughout the article. I'll leave it to you to decide though; if you're unhappy with the changes I've made so far then I'll stop and agree with you that the nomination might as well be withdrawn. Malleus Fatuorum 21:51, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

I haven't chatted with Ottava in the past two to three weeks. I cannot, for the life of me, understand what you're doing to the Plot section; it looks exactly the same to me. I obviously am incapable of replicating something I cannot see. I've hit the ceiling in terms of what I am capable of and if this isn't good enough, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR  21:59, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough. Let it fail then, and I'll take it through its fourth FAC, successfully. Malleus Fatuorum 22:52, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Sure thing. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR  22:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

This is all I was talking about, grouping the material into major themes such as Fielding's transition to the satirical form, the structure of the play and so on. I'm going to stick my neck out and be the first to support this article's promotion now, so hopefully there will be no need for FAC #4. Malleus Fatuorum 16:00, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

You noted during your work with Belle Vue Zoological Gardens that you were also unable to reorganize as you saw fit; a similar issue is arising here and I'm quite surprised by the negativity that's been shot toward me for my inability to deal with it. I still maintain that this was way more pain than it was worth. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR  18:29, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
The issue is not at all similar; in the case of Belle Vue I worked with User:J3Mrs and together we came up with an improved structure and cut out some of the dead wood. You have consistently refused to adopt that collaborative approach. Malleus Fatuorum 18:34, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Collaborative? I have not once reverted or fought over any changes that have been made; in fact, I've welcomed them. Perhaps you find my tone of voice disagreeable because of my stress, but my actions should speak louder; I've at least tried to enact the changes requested. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR  18:38, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
I understand that FAC can be stressful, and that getting this article to a point where it is at least within shouting distance of being an FA without Ottava's help is a not inconsiderable achievement. I'll admit that your request yesterday on SandyG's talk page to withdraw the nomination raised my hackles a bit, but let's put all that behind us and look forwards now. Malleus Fatuorum 18:44, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Honestly, two or three months down the line, I'm going to look back on this moment and cringe. But hey, I thought it would save everybody the trouble if I just backed into my little corner, tinkered some more until I was happy and then left it without a star; not like every article needs one, right? I figure we've gotten there now, but that's a hella lot of bad blood floating around. Poor decision making on my part. I really should go back to my terrible anime and video game articles and leave the intellectual bits to people more skilled than I. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR  18:53, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
There's no bad blood, these little spats are soon forgotten. What I'm hoping is that when you look back on this article in two or three months you're going to think "Wow! Did I really help to write that?" Malleus Fatuorum 19:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Don't quite have one of those yet. I look forward to such a time when I may do so immensely. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR  19:23, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Hadji Ali

Thanks for taking a look! Please note that the whitespace after the lead is intentional as the formatting (at least on my screen) breaks without it, with the headline for the biography section impinging on the infobox. I probably should have a commented out note there like <!-- please don't remove whitespace above as it breaks the formatting --> I tried to fix it with the various {{clear}} templates without luck.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 06:24, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

What browser are you using and where is the formatting breaking? I'll try to replicate the error and see if I can fix it; it looks fine on my screen. ɳOCTURNEɳOIRtalk 06:32, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Firefox. I just checked and am getting the same error in safari. Here are screenshots: display with the spacing and display without the spacing. If it's not immediately obvious, follow the line extending from the biography headline over to the right. And i'm off to bed.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 06:57, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
That's not quite an error. On my screen, even with whitespaces, it shows up like this. Any article with an infobox will run this risk; the best you can do against it is inserting a {{-}} after the section in question. I'm almost certain this isn't done though and the headline is allowed to impinge, so to speak, on the infobox. ɳOCTURNEɳOIRtalk 07:02, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

I couldn't help but notice you transcluding that page to WP:FLC. While I feel kind of flattered by your mentioning me in the nomination, I generally do not appreciate others speaking for me. Strictly speaking, you may not have done that, but saying that "the second half has been checked by Goodraise" in the opening statement of an FLC leads to believe that I not only "checked" it, but also didn't find anything wrong with it.
