Speedy deletion nomination of Gene priest

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gene priest requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 00:41, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Gene priest. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You are specifically prohibited by Wikipedia policy from promoting yourself or your work in any shape, form or fashion. Please cease and desist immediately. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 01:23, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you could please let me know which part is not allowed I will be glad to change the wording, take out, alter whatever I need to do. Owning the rights to myself it seems it would be more fact or encyclopedia type if I wrote it myself. I guess I can have friends write if that is what is needed.

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. I repeat: You are not allowed to post articles which essentially promote yourself. You do not meet Wikipedia standards for notability of musicians, as set forth on this page. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:09, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at Gene priest

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Gene priest, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 04:31, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning; the next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did at Gene priest, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. What part of "no" do you not understand? - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 04:43, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
