I'm getting frustrated finding something on Wikipedia that I believe should be easy to find on Wikipedia, which is the relationship between sunspot activity and solar irradiance, or solar luminosity. Either one or both. The present article says:

Sunspot number is correlated with the intensity of solar radiation over the period since 1979, when satellite measurements became available. The variation caused by the sunspot cycle to solar output is on the order of 0.1% of the solar constant (a peak-to-trough range of 1.3 W·m−2 compared with 1366 W·m−2 for the average solar constant).

It says that the solar emission changes by approx. 1.3 Wm-2, but amazingly, it doesn't say in which direction it changes.

I'm going to keep looking for an answer online.. but I'm posting this comment here because I feel the information should be included in the Wikipedia article.
