Hi Treethinker, love your user name. Fulbert betrayed Heloise by having her husband castrated, not by letting Abelard into the house -- Abelard was Heloise's buddy and all historical evidence from her mouth says she wanted to be with him. So Fulbert betrayed her by betraying her husband. I agree that the idea he collaborated with Abelard in some way would be absurd / Victorian idea, but Heloise is definitely "Team Abelard" so when he backstabbed Abelard, he also backstabbed Heloise.
