  Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, like you did in the article Trenton Technology. Wikipedia is not a trade directory. If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. BrxBrx(talk)(please reply with { {re|BrxBrx}}) 18:01, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am not trying to promote the business but fill out the information that is correct about our business. Can we change the name to "Trenton Systems" instead of "Trenton Technology"?

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, TrentonSystems. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. in general, please do not edit articles you are directly associated with. You may use the associated talk page to discuss the article in question. BrxBrx(talk)(please reply with { {re|BrxBrx}}) 18:23, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

{ {re|BrxBrx}}) Not a problem at all, we are new to Wikipedia and are not aware of said regulation in place. What would you suggest we do in order to fix the information on this page? It comes up really high on Google Rankings when people search for our company and having the wrong information pop-up is simply not acceptable. How would you approach this situation to make sure we edit the right content about our company? This information is available on our homepage as well. I am not selling a product or boasting about the company, simply correcting the name, history, location, and categories we serve. Any input is much appreciated!

I would suggest using the talk page to bring up your concerns. The talk page is located at Talk:Trenton Technology. As you are new to Wikipedia, it is highly inadvisable for you to directly edit a page pertaining to you. Unless the errors are obviously wrong, or inserted as vandalism, you should not edit it out, but instead bring it to the attention of the community on the talk page. You can ask an administrator or other users for help, at Wikipedia:Teahouse. BrxBrx(talk)(please reply with { {re|BrxBrx}}) 18:38, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

{ {re|BrxBrx}} Thank you for your input! It is truly much appreciated. I have reached out on both Talks for assistance with updating the information on Wikipedia.

  Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  in the enhanced toolbar, or   if you use the old "classic" toolbar) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. Thank you.
