Deletion of Mohammed Ansar

Dear Trevj, did you switch off the life support on the Ansar article? Avenger786 (talk) 18:54, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

You mean because I was the last person to add a comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohammed Ansar before it was closed? Have you thought about asking the closer about the BLP/delete aspect, or requesting userfication? -- Trevj (talk) 20:58, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:In the Faxed Atmosphere cover art.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:In the Faxed Atmosphere cover art.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:09, 17 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Page Curation newsletter

Hey Trevj/Archives. I'm dropping you a note because you used to (or still do!) patrol new pages. This is just to let you know that we've deployed and developed Page Curation, which augments and supersedes Special:NewPages - there are a lot of interesting new features :). There's some help documentation here if you want to familiarise yourself with the system and start using it. If you find any bugs or have requests for new features, let us know here. Thanks! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bristol/Bath to South Coast Study, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bath (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

BrainPop

Thanks for fixing the name/redirects before. An editor has now renamed the article again! What is the right procedure to reverse this? -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:01, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

It should be as simple as placing {{Db-move}} at BrainPop, linking to the consensus move discussion in line with policy. It should then be picked up by an admin and moved back. I see you've already placed a warning on the talk page of the editor in question. -- Trevj (talk) 16:28, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I did the move myself. Should I still put {{Db-move}} there, or is there a way to get someone to protect the page against moves? -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:34, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Maybe I'm missing something because I was under the impression that such a CSD tag needed to be placed! No need to place that tag if the page is moved. Anyway, I've added to your note at User talk:Dhnlin. The page could possibly be move protected, e.g. if further moves occur without consensus or additional discussion. In such a case, a request could be made at Requests for page protection. I'm not familiar with the process, but I think it would be good to have a discussion with Dhnlin first. I hope that's of some help. Cheers. -- Trevj (talk) 17:44, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:55, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

While we're on the subject, is there any way to add a logo or other visual identification of the company? All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:09, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that's fairly simple.
  1. Source/resize to get a non hi-res image
  2. Pick your filename, per WP:IFN
  3. Edit its inclusion in the article as a redlink (leave this on preview if you don't think others are likely to edit the article while you upload)
  4. Upload the file, including details within {{logo fur}}, and selecting it as a logo for licensing
  5. Save the inclusion within the article (if not already done)
  6. Tag the file with relevant WikiProject banners, for good measure
Too slow with my reply - I see it's been taken care of! Sorry. -- Trevj (talk) 22:13, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. It was nice of someone to do it for me. I'm de-watching your page now, so let me know on my talk page if you have any related matters to discuss. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:34, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for taking the time to participate in my RfA. I hope that I will be able to improve based on the feedback I received and become a better editor. AutomaticStrikeout 03:10, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

This note is a courteous surprise. Thanks! You certainly seem to be a genuine editor, with the right intentions and a devotion to the project. As I said in your RfA, I think that broadening your topic areas will expose you to more policy discussions with others, while further AfD participation (and some obvious non-admin closures) will be appropriate if you want to work in the area of page deletion. See you next time! Cheers. -- Trevj (talk) 05:08, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
