Dear Trevor Jacques,

Thank you for your thoughtful comments about the Prof. Dave Holmes page. I have no doubt that Prof. Holmes is notable. However, the article as written reads more like his personal resume than an encyclopedia article. Can you possibly trim it down? I don't think an encyclopedia entry needs to include every position he holds or has held. As a reader, I want to get a sense of his most significant contributions, not every committee he has served on. What specifically has he contributed to his field? What's truly interesting about his work?

Also, the info box is overcrowded with information. Do you know his date (or at least year) of birth?

Could you try to streamline a bit? Write a paragraph that would interest a general reader, rather than so many lists? The books need to be properly referenced as books, with the name of the publishers, dates, and ISBN numbers if possible.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you spending a bit more time on the draft. Gecko990 (talk) 20:13, 22 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm working on trimming it down and have done some of that, already. I will get to the book references very soon. I've also added the date of birth. Trevor Jacques (talk) 22:27, 22 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Trevor, the books should be bulleted and listed with publisher and date, as I mentioned before.

Could you possibly cut the committee section? I don't think it's notable. Could you trim every single section in half?

If you can't make serious cuts - to include only what someone like me, who doesn't know the man, would find notable - then I'll bow out here and leave you to the next Wiki editor! Take care! Gecko990 (talk) 02:04, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I believe I've made all the changes you requested. Please confirm. Thanks. :-) Trevor. Trevor Jacques (talk) 21:32, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
