March 2024 | Still alive. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 08:12, 6 March 2024 (UTC) |
Sept 2024 | I have been on wikipedia for almost 4 years. Anyway, nothing much else going on. Dunno what else I could contribute on. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 11:13, 19 September 2024 (UTC) |

Feb 15, 2023 | Google Books and Google News have become more reliable. I have been working on few Martial Arts pages here and there, using these new sources to my best capability. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 07:30, 15 February 2023 (UTC) |

Sept 21, 2022 | Eh, getting bit of groove back. Rin Nakai and Fiat 15 got approved, a welcome surprise even though Habersetzer is still too much for my ability. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 11:26, 21 September 2022 (UTC) |
July 14, 2022 | Not feeling wikipedia right now. I'm getting tired of trying to save two-thousand different entries at once. Its too tiresome to try protect something some chucklef*** can ruin just like that and revert them every time. To think people take this website so seriously - like it's some kind of ultimate authority... Bah. My a**e is authority. You're legit better reading books from library than reading or writing for wikipedia.
But enough is enough... I'm going for a LONG cigarette break. TrickShotFinn (talk) 17:33, 14 July 2022 (UTC) |
June 14, 2022 | Busy with Kyokushin and Masashi Ishibashi (actor). Habersetzer got rejected again, don't know if I can save it anymore.TrickShotFinn (talk) 13:31, 14 June 2022 (UTC) |
Apr 19, 2022 | No inspiration to continue editing Wikipedia as for now - despite having bit of a backlog. I'm bit powerless when it comes to Roland Habersetzer and the other entries on draftspace, but I'll just have to sit and wait till something happens for me to react to. I'll pop in and out if the motivation bug bites. TrickShotFinn (talk) 11:05, 19 April 2022 (UTC) |
Mar 2nd, 2022 | Well hot damn, Takaku Fuke draft got through. That one little banned b*****rd owes me a debt of gratitude. And big thanks to User:RafaelHP and User:Cassiopeia!
Anyway, my job old has ended and it's time to brawl with the job search engines yet again. Again, no guarantees I have free time for Wikipedia. There's some weird hassle at Wing Chun page again, but hope those guys can solve it themselves. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 10:11, 2 March 2022 (UTC) |
Feb 3rd, 2022 | I'm little low on energy regarding the wikipedia thing. The yesteryear's trollercoaster and trying to save Roland Habersetzer, Ademir Da Costa and Takaku Fuke drafts have drained me as far as being on the web goes. And dammit, I still need to get Branches of Wing Chun in order. Wikipedia, thy will is hard. My present occupational obligations end by week 8, which will bittersweetly open my time for other things. That doesn't nessecarily mean wikipedia though, but we'll see. Also R.I.P Michael Lee Aday alias Meatloaf. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 10:53, 3 February 2022 (UTC) |
Jan 1st, 2022 | Aaayy! Happy new year, y'all. Still bit handicapped, regrettably. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 14:09, 1 January 2022 (UTC) |
Bulletin board (2021) | |
---|---|
December 7th, 2021 | There's bit of a December blitz going on in real life and I am not entirely capable of continuing bigger Wikipedia entries, like Branches of Wing Chun, that I use Leung Ting and Chu 2015 to get most info on. I might free up on week 52. I'm in good spirits, better than I was in November, but I just have lots of real-world stuff to do for holidays. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 07:23, 7 December 2021 (UTC) |
November 25, 2021 | I've spruced Branches of Wing Chun a bit. Though I still need Yuen Kay-San and Pao Fa Lien lineages worked up.-- TrickShotFinn (talk) 11:42, 25 November 2021 (UTC) |
November 20, 2021 |
|
November 17, 2021 | I'm feeling better, but I still need bit more time to get ready to take on Roland Habersetzer and 813 (novel) issue. Things have not been helped this one guy with unspecified issues with Sambo/Shoot Wrestling pioneer Volk Han - who just can't take a hint. Thankfully, he continued to be himself at front of the ANI guys and got put on 31h freeze for a being a potty mouth - and I bet he will come out of the penalty box like a (sarcasm)proper elegant princess with nothing particular to say(/sarcasm). If it weren't for fact that he is on admins' watchlist now, I'd be almost worried. Almost.
One day, I swear I'll set that *%&/#x 39th Special Forces Detachment entry straight. TrickShotFinn (talk) 19:40, 18 November 2021 (UTC) |
November 13, 2021 | I'm taking a little break.
I've had some big setbacks in real life. Not only in real life, but Wikipedia as well. Both Roland Habersetzer and 813 (novel) got moved to draftspace for lack of legit citations. I was fully aware that there was a risk that those entries would experience the afromentioned fate. That and I've recently have had headaches trying to research & rewrite the Wing Chun entry, as well as dealing a guy who has issues with Sambo and Shoot Wrestling legend Volk Han, whose record he deleted once, only to do it again some year later, this with all sorts of circumstantial evidence to try back his claims. Not to mention the 39th Special Forces Detachment that I've have meant to do a long time ago, but I just keep pushing it further since I have no confidence in my citations or writing in a way that doesn't violate copyright.

Recent edit reversion
editIn this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 14:26, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of 39th Special Forces Detachment
editHello TrickShotFinn,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 39th Special Forces Detachment for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

39th Special Forces Detachment moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, 39th Special Forces Detachment, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article Kuk Sul Do (Choon Sik Yang) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No indication of notability per WP:GNG, and written in a promotional tone.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 15:53, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Kuk Sul Do (disambiguation)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kuk Sul Do (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 16:08, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
it's vs. its
editHi, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia! I wanted to draw your attention to this edit. Please understand that "it's" is a contraction of "it is"; whenever it's is used, a substitution of "it is" should make sense. The word "its" is a possessive denoting ownership as in "its head" or "its thoughts".
Actually, it's should almost never be used as stated in the manual of style: "Missing letters are replaced by an apostrophe in multiple-word contractions. Contractions should not be used in Wikipedia." Thus, occurrences of "it's" should be replaced by "it is". Just a heads up! --LilHelpa (talk) 22:30, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Copyright infringement
editI can see that you are a new editor, but you need to know that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. You must not copy and paste text from sources you find on the web into articles as you did in the article SIG MP41. The infringing text has been removed because the material you copied is subject to copyright, as is almost everything on the web. When creating or expanding articles, you should completely rewrite the information from the source using your own words. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:35, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Utter nonsense, but I'll give you benefit of a doubt... Granted this subject doesn't take a freaky turn somewhere. --TrickShotFinn (talk) 15:46, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:SteyrPi18Early.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:SteyrPi18Early.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. editI just wanted to say thanks for creating the page on Robert Cheezic, my grandfather. It means a lot to me. If you don't mind me asking, how did you know him? Did you hear of him, or did you meet him?
Thanks, Max.
Well Hello Max, greetings from Finland. I discovered GM Cheezic when I was doing research on art of Tang Soo Do and the name "Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation" caught my eye. Since I'm Finnish, the "Cheezic TSD" sounded kinda odd to my ear and I wanted know what the deal was. Also to make sure that it wasn't some troll edit, since the Tang Soo Do page is persistently plagued by non-constructive edits. Subsequently, I found that GM Robert Cheezic was quite a career martial artist and - to make sure Cheezic TSD woulun't be swiped away from Wikipedia for lack of notability - I made the entry for Robert Cheezic, based on the info I observed at the "references" section.
I myself I'm a big fan of Kyokushin-style Knockdown Karate, which was founded by a Zainchi-Korean (Korean Japanese person). So I also like finding stuff about Korean styles of striking martial arts as well, Tang Soo Do being one of them. Regrettably, there is no Tang Soo Do in Finland, but who knows if one day...
Best regards to you and your family. TrickShotFinn (talk) 08:10, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Responses on ANI
editFor real, the more times you go back and forth, especially on content, the less likely there is to be any action. He's already said you need an IQ check, piped to eugenics, so if it just sits for a little bit it should get resolved. If there's more arguing between you two and things like that attack are lost in the noise, you're less likely to see a resolution anytime soon. Username choice
editYour username implies interest in ball sports, but based on your user page you're more interested in martial arts. Minkai(rawr!)(see where I screwed up) 21:23, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- @JulieMinkai: TrickShot actually (sorta) has a double meaning. It is actually meant to refer to trick shooting, as I'm quite a accurate shooter in real life. Though I am aware just "trickshot" can mean completely different things. That and "Trick" refers to "thinking outside the box" tactics I use to do stuff. I'm generally perceived by my real-life peers to be quite crafty in strategy games and I'm often contacted to find stuff like books, movies that might be out of print. The username itself is a carry over from my days at Internet Movie Firearms Database, I used to be moderately active there circa 2013/2014-2019. Don't worry, I'm not a NRA nut or anything. I do creative writing, namely in spy fiction/military action genre, so I'm quite specific about what sort of firearms certain of entities use.
I used to be a avid firearms aficionado, but currently it's more of a love-hate relationship, namely due to gun culture that perpetuates around the web. My elder relative's child almost died at 2007 Jokela school shooting, which had always complicated things for me from my occupational education years. After the Cheeto Benito era school shootings in USA, combined with the snide, swellheaded attitude the gun guys around the web, I just didn't want to be associated with gun culture anymore.
The martial arts thing was initially a short phase in mid-2000s, until I re-discovered Bruce Lee and his philosophy circa 2012 - which completely revitalized my life at that point. Infact, that's about the part when I started to search other martial arts. Like with guns, I wanted the right martial art for right character personality. These days, the martial arts thing has taken over the firearms interest. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 13:40, 19 November 2021 (UTC)- Oh, wow, we do actually have an area of overlap lol...I created Stembridge Gun Rentals, which appeared at DYK earlier today. —valereee (talk) 14:07, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

editTakaku Fuke
editHi I noticed you were taking over the Takaku Fuke draft page and I'd like to let you know he is actually considered notable by WP:MMABIO. He was ranked as the number 2 heavyweight in the world by FightMatrix in 1994, which technically allows him to pass as a notable article. cheers ♡RAFAEL♡(talk) 09:48, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- @RafaelHP: Gotcha. According to FightMatrix archive, Fuke was also a pound-per-pound Top 5 circa October 1994. --TrickShotFinn (talk) 10:02, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- @RafaelHP: Welp, User:Missvain thinks you're wrong. The Fuke draft declined on Dec 9th for lack of notability. Also possibly because the original author - who managed to submit the draft for second time before I worked on it - was blocked for being a scumbag who half-assed his entry writing and put all his effort in making people miserable over trivial bs. Is there something I'm missing or did Missvain bungle it or something? -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 12:14, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
They definitely messed it up, I know that Jiri Prochazka was accepted as an article because he was ranked inside the top 10 by FightMatrix, even though he didnt have 3 top tier fights. I'd encourage them to read WP:MMABIO ♡RAFAEL♡(talk) 12:17, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, I've inquired Missvain about this. Though it appears Pancrase is seen as second tier by WP:MMATIER - and not top tier, so Fuke maybe out in that regard. -- TrickShotFinn (talk) 12:31, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
- TSF: May I suggest that the route forward is to look with care at the citations and seek to ensure that they show notability. I would set aside the blocked combative editor as a reason for a decline. They are blocked, are in the past, and have no current relevance.
- If I had the necessary knowledge for the arena this draft is in I would offer an AFC review, but I'm afraid combat sports are a blindspot for me. I would expect notability criteria to be somewhere in the Wikipedia:NATHLETE page FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 13:06, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

Roland Habersetzer moved to draftspace

Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Devonian Wombat (talk) 05:32, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
edit Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of Taekwondo practitioners. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:17, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
