Your Reports of Vandalism
editHere is a copy of the comment I made re your recent report to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism:
"Comment: Since 2010, there has been only one warning -- from the person reporting vandalism. "Repetitively blanked large parts of articles" refers to two edits (the only two since 2010), removing one paragraph. The removal did not appear to me to be vandalism. This page is a valuable resource. I hate to see volunteers' time wasted on cases that are clearly not vandalism."
I use this resource at least once a week to report egregious vandals who need a block to be stopped. The reports are dealt with by volunteers like you and me. That's not going to work if they are overwhelmed with petty and exagerrated claims. Willondon (talk) 02:11, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi Willondon, Thanks for your advice. I didn't realise that that page was so strict in its requirements. I simply wanted to bring admin attention to this user. Tris1313 (talk) 04:28, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi, next time, before tagging for deletion, please check the article history and talk page. You'd then have seen that I am not the author of this article, but created the redirect as part of a decision at AfD. Despite such a decision, an article can be recreated if new sources come up. That was not the case here, so I have restored the redirect per the AfD. Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 14:26, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Sorry about that. I didn't check properly who twinkle had sent it to. Thanks for restoring the redirect. Tris1313 (talk) 01:53, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
VEDA
editHello Tris1313,
I think, that you don't have any reason to delete my page. Please, define the correct reason for this!
Best regards, Georgi Krivoshiyski — Preceding unsigned comment added by Georgi Krivoshiyski (talk • contribs) 11:33, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker). Georgi, I edit conflicted with you and since I did the deletion, not Tris, I might as well reply. It was blatant advertising. It all displayed as
<pre>
because you had made absolutely no attempt to create a Wikipedia article. But kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:48, 28 October 2015 (UTC)- I don't think I could really have replied any better. Thanks. Tris1313 (talk) 21:59, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
October 2015 Speedy Deletion Notice
editHi, I was the editor who added this tag [{{db-foreign}} to Calyaalo] but then realised that this tag only applies when there is a similar article on the foreign language wikipedia. While I have identified that this page is written in Somali, there is no page on any other Wiki, suggesting that it is not a notable topic. Should I have changed the tag, or is it still relevant? If I should have, what do you suggest that I change it to? Tris1313 (talk) 10:50, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Strictly speaking, you should have: a) changed the speedy tag to {{notEnglish}} and b) left an helpful note on the author's talk page. But I take an harsh view: if the user has not found the wiki for their own language then they are probably beyond help. So I usually delete foreign language submissions on sight. Also, especially for a stub like that one and even though they are technically invalid, I will accept {{db-context}} or {{db-nonsense}} tags. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:41, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I agree with you that the article probably warranted deletion regardless. Tris1313 (talk) 21:59, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers
editHi Tris1313,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
