Phi Omega Sigma

edit

Looks like a good start on Phi Omega Sigma (Philippines). As you are well aware, proving notability for Fraternities and Sororities can be somewhat difficult after working on Alpha Tau Omega (Philippines). Is Phi Omega Sigma (Phil) as large as Alpha Tau Omega (Phil)? The links from List of fraternities and sororities in the Philippines looks just fine.Naraht (talk) 16:09, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Tabing-ilogposter.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 18:01, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Three Stars and a Sun Commemorative Barnstar
TrueLicense909, I award you this Philippine Barnstar commemorating the passing of Francis Magalona. It is given in recognition of your tireless efforts to improve the Francis Magalona article, and protect it from vandalism, honoring the memory of "the man from Manila." --Alternativity (talk) 19:45, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Phi Omega Sigma (Philippines)

edit

A tag has been placed on Phi Omega Sigma (Philippines) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dpmuk (talk) 12:20, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Posans_international.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading :File:Posans_international.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 22:13, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Phi Omega Sigma

edit

Hey, I changed the Phi Omega Sigma page into a disambig, so that the amount of information on the College of Wooster page can be cut down. Feel free to play with the order, graphics, or whatever on the Disambiguation page, but I think the College of Wooster page doesn't really need an external link to the Philippines page anymore. Take a look.--CastAStone//₵₳$↑₳₴₮ʘ№€ 14:02, 9 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Flowing DDT?

edit

I noticed you changed the Triple H listing to a Flowing DDT though the source cited only uses DDT. I can't personally remember him using a "flowing" DDT more than another. I was just hoping you could clarify for me? Best of timesMephYazata (talk) 02:06, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

That was my point. You are telling me to use the source, which states DDT not Flowing DDT and yet you had changed it to Flowing DDT without sourcing. I was trying to find out if you had a new source that could be added or just changed it without sourcing. Just wondering. I am a fan so was wondering what I had missed, not criticizing anyone so please don't take it that way.MephYazata (talk) 18:39, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I can see how you see it that way. It makes sense. I guess I had a more strict sense of the term.  :)MephYazata (talk) 05:31, 18 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Images in Shawn Michaels

edit

Hi there. Why are you adding so many images to Shawn Michaels? Most of them are unnecessary, aren't very good quality, and there's far too many. They're squashing the text, and creating a lot of white space on my screen. ♥NiciVampireHeart15:43, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Midtitlebars

I have restored the midtitle bars, on List of fraternities and sororities in the Philippines, for lists this long, having midtitle bars so that users don't have to scroll all the way up to the top makes sense.Naraht (talk) 13:27, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Bitoy_in_eatbulaga.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Bitoy_in_eatbulaga.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 10:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can you upload the original image. It will be better to upload the original resolution than an edited one. I'm sure it is available since you are the one who took the image. --Bluemask (talk) 09:07, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for File:Crashfansign.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Crashfansign.JPG. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Athletic Nickname

edit

Hello, I would like to point out that the "Nickname" line in the University Infobox redirects to the article "Athletic nickname". The purpose of this line is to indicate the athletic nickname of the collective athletic team of the University in question. For UNO-R, this would be the "Rams", their basketball team. UNO-Rians refer to the student body's collective nickname, which is not the object of that particular line in the University infobox. Please click the "Nickname" link and verify this. I have taken the opprtunity to undo your last edit in the UNO-R article. Cheers! — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 05:19, 5 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello TrueLicense909! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 8 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Proposed blackout in protest of R.A.10175

edit

Dear TrueLicense909,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 14, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Tabing-ilogposter.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Tabing-ilogposter.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
