Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 15:54, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi FreeRangeFrog! Thanks for letting me know about the username policy. I created the original username in the interest of transparency and because I saw that TripAdvisor signs their posts as TripAdvisorUK on their talk page. However, I would of course like my username to comply with the username policy and hope my new suggestion works. Also, I completely understand that promotional editing is not acceptable and that is by no means my interest. As I mentioned in my intro, I would like to bring the Trustpilot article up to the standards of Yelp's and other good articles on Wikipedia. I would like to do this together with the Wikipedia community using suggested edits. Cheers, Trustpilot (talk) 07:55, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Huon (talk) 12:43, 18 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Besides requesting a username change, you should read the guideline on conflicts of interest and the Wikimedia Founation's Terms of Use regarding paid editing. Transparency is required (and it's the ethical thing to do, of course), so we appreciate your approach in that regard, but Wikipedia accounts are only for individuals, not for groups or corporations. If you look a little more closely, you'll find that User:TripAdvisor was also blocked and subsequently renamed for the same reasons. The place to add a note to create transparency is your user page. Hi Huon, thanks very much for your help. I posted my request as you asked, and it has now been approved. I have also read Wikipedia's policies on promotional editing, conflict of interest, and the terms of use regarding paid editing and have disclosed my interest in the subject on my user page. Please let me know if there is anything else I should do before I begin to suggest edits on the talk page. Cheers TrustieCPH (talk) 14:38, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
