Notability of James river scratch
editA tag has been placed on James river scratch, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 03:30, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

I added this band to wikipedia because the Municipal Waste wiki pointed to it as a previous band of their frontman Tony Foresta. Just trying to help out the wikipedia comunity by filling in the wiki holes and dead links. I will take no offense if the article is deleted, but let it be known that I gathered information and made a respectable page for a band that produced a record on an actual record lable, all of which is cited. So I think it should be reconsidered. Thanks, tub

Fair use rationale for Image:To my boy concertmyspace.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:To my boy concertmyspace.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Jammie Thomas Picture
editUploaded Image:Jammiethomas attorney.jpg today, hope it all works out or something.Tubeyes 04:04, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I had to delete it as a copyvio. Maybe you could contact her attorney and ask for a photo of her that can be released under the GFDL. See WP:COPYREQ for more info. This page is also helpful. Good luck! -- But|seriously|folks 05:37, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm just reading some news stories and she has a myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/tereastarr. Maybe you could message her through myspace and get permission to use a photo. Just follow the procedure at WP:COPYREQ so the permission is sufficient. -- But|seriously|folks 06:02, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Jammie MySpace response
editHere is my conversation with Jammie AKA "tereastarr" or "I am who I am" on myspace [Reformatted to chronological order]:
From: Dusty
Date: Oct 6, 2007 1:23 AM
Jammie,
I've been reading about your case and I want you to know that I'm sorry about the verdict and I hope things get better for you.
I found your myspace while doing research for the free online encyclopedia Wikipedia, and thought a picture of you might be appropriate to show fellow wikipedians what kind of people the RIAA picks on.
I am specifically seeking your permission to use this image:
I would like to include your image in your article:
Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org/) is a free encyclopedia that is collaboratively edited by volunteers from around the world. Our goal is to create a comprehensive knowledge base that may be freely distributed and available at no charge.
Normally we ask permission for material to be used under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. This means that although you retain the copyright and authorship of your own work, you are granting permission for all others (not just Wikipedia) to use, copy, and share your materials freely -- and even potentially use them commercially -- so long as they do not try to claim the copyright themselves, nor prevent others from using or copying them freely.
You can read this license in full at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GFDL
This license expressly protects creators from being considered responsible for modifications made by others, while ensuring that creators are credited for their work. There is more information on our copyright policy at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights
We choose the GFDL because we consider it the best available tool for ensuring our encyclopedia can remain free for all to use, while providing credit to everyone who donates text and images. This may or may not be compatible with your goals in creating the materials available on your website. Please be assured that if permission is not granted, your materials will not be used at Wikipedia -- we have a very strict policy against copyright violations.
We also accept licensing of images under other free-content licenses like some Creative Commons licenses - see http://creativecommons.org for this.
With your permission, we will credit you for your work in the image's permanent description page, noting that it is your work and is used with your permission, and we will provide a link back to your myspace, if you wish. Please explicitly state under which license you grant permission.
We invite your collaboration in writing and editing articles on this subject and any others that might interest you. Please see the following article for more information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Introduction
Thank you for your time, and I hope your situation improves, both for you and yours.
Kindly, Dustin

Dustin, I'm unsure which picture specifically you would like to use for wikipedia. If it is a picture of me from my pictures page on myspace, you have my permission to use it. If it is the art from my myspace, that is art I use with permission from the artists with full credit going to them on my page. Please reconfirm which picture you are specifically talking about. Thank you for your time.

- OK, I sent a note to the OTRS staff pointing them to this thread and asking if they need anything else. I also uploaded the image, so take a look at Jammie Thomas. Thanks for your efforts! -- But|seriously|folks 18:01, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:HeadwoundcityEP.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:HeadwoundcityEP.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:44, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

editHey there! Not really, you have an account - the only problem could be that a you may share a block, if the IP over-steppes.
If you do get autoblocked, you can "contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user." If you want, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.
I look jovial well-knowing? Then the guise has worked! Now, hand over your wiki-wallet; I've got some Christmas shopping to do! :) Cheers! Dfrg_msc 08:53, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
American spellings on British articles
editHi. Thanks for fixing a few wrong spellings on the Hannah Ashworth article. Unfortunately, you also changed many correct British spellings to American. Considering that is a British article, please do not unnecessarily change the spellings to American English. Thanks. ~~ [Jam][talk] 08:10, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to offend any cultural spellings, I know you guys made the language anyway, but there were also total mispellings such as "scrathing" instead of scratching. Unless scrathing is the way to scratch in the UK. ;p - Tubeyes (talk) 08:15, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Major Mikhail Fetisov listed at Redirects for discussion
editAn editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Major Mikhail Fetisov. Since you had some involvement with the Major Mikhail Fetisov redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). snigbrook (talk) 19:04, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
The article To My Boy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Notability not addressed in 12 months; fails WP:BAND as it stands.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rodhullandemu 16:21, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sam Zurick, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Make Believe (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
