Article critique of the Wikipedia Page on "Jacob Eason"

edit

Article Review

edit

I visited the Jacob Eason page on wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Lack of details regarding sophomore season, there are references that are missing, and lack of overall content.

Sophomore Season

edit

As a person that had the pleasure of playing along side Jacob Eason in high school, their were some defining moments in that season that propelled him and helped him grow in the nations best high school quarterback. Before the game against Edmonds-Woodway, Eason earned his first offer from Oregon State. During the spring time is when he started to get looks from around the country and throwing for scouts on multiple occasions.

References

edit
The references and links regarding this page seem to be acclimated towards people that are not from the west coast. Various media outlets that have covered Eason a lot are "Under The radar Sports" and "Everett Herald" along with the "Seattle Times". Also which should be worth noting is Eason had tremendous coaching from quarterback trainer "Lavelle Durant" and "Tracy Ford" from "Ford Sports Performance" which trains multiple NFL players.

Content

edit

When I mean "overall Content" I expect Wikipedia pages to contain information about the person in all aspects, not for what they are most known for. When Eason was awarded "Gatorade National player of the year", in the video, it noted that he achieved a 3.83 GPA. To put this in perspective, if you look at at "Rusell Wilson" Wikipedia page, it highlights that he was Senior class President of his high school. Although they aren't on the same platform of popularity, their is information and articles about him that can help build this page.

Summary

edit

Although Jacob is only a 19 year old kid, there are more than enough sources to help build a page that defines him more than just who he is on the football field. I think it's worth looking into adding the media sources such as "Under the radar Sports", "Everett Herald", and link is "ESPN profile from high school". The information about him regarding his stats are fine, but their is nothing to describe him as a person. The article just seems bland to read more like reading a stat line. Wikipedia helps in research because it is written in a vernacular that helps most people where as you don't have to use a dictionary for every other word.
