TwistedByFate
November 2016
editHi you recently contacted me. I trying to learn my way through the editing process. Aparantly i created 2 identical pages 😬 I didn't realise as it's my first time. Can you help me with this?
- @Thedreamwarrior:Hmmm I am not the Wikipedia expert myself, but consider going to Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions and asking for help there, I have done it and they are really willing to help. You can be as in depth as you want there. Make sure to link both pages in the question too so they can help you even more. Also, if you write on a users talk page, always end your message with 4 ~. Good luck! TwistedByFate (talk) 00:16, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
Bot
editHello. I'd like to ask, is TwistedByFate bot your bot? Linguist If you reply here, please add {{ping|Linguist111}} to your message 00:57, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Linguist111: Yes, I created the account for later use, currently in the process of directly linking it to here. TwistedByFate (talk) 00:59, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, I just wanted you to confirm whether it was yours or someone impersonating you. Cheers! Linguist 01:01, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Linguist111:Yeah, any chance you know some stuff about AWB? TwistedByFate bot (talk) 01:13, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- Oops, wrong account! This is going to get confusing! TwistedByFate bot (talk) 01:14, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'm an AWB user. It's a less automated version of a bot. It's used to assist a user in performing tasks that would be quite time-consuming if done manually. It can, for example, automatically correct grammatical errors, add {{orphan}} and {{dead end}} tags to articles (those that aren't linked to other Wikipedia articles and those that have no links to other articles respectively), correct formatting errors etc.. It's automatically provided to all administrators, but non-admins need permission to use it. Users that have not made at least 250 non-automated edits in the article namespace, or at least 500 total edits in the articles namespace will rarely be granted permission. If you wish to use AWB, you can file a request for permission to at WP:PERM/AWB. Also, has your bot been approved? All bots must be approved before they can be run. - @Linguist111: No I havent attached any program to my bot yet. And I think I will continue editing and then consider AWB. Thank you so much for all the help! TwistedByFate (talk) 02:57, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
