edit- moved from here:Good evening. Can you explain how I can properly edit the Gamblers Anonymous article? I left a note there for an editor and you erased it as if it were junk. The article contains factually incorrect citations that very well may persuade people not to seek the help that they need. It's very frustrating to me to see something like that written--unsourced--and know that it is untrue. I've been a member of GA for 14 years and feel like I have the kind of credibility that wikipedia seeks in its articles. Anyway, I linked to the full piece of scholarly research that the article misquotes. How do I fix the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Twoapplesandanorange (talk • contribs) 02:43, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, you wrote the content as if you were speaking to the editors, that's unencyclopedic. The article is not a chat page, it's supposed to be an encyclopedic topic of information. The content you added would have been more appropriate on the article's talk page. As for the article, you will need to write or fix content per Wikipedia policies and guidelines. I'd suggest reading through all the main policies, reading Help:Contents/Getting started and asking for assistance at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page. You can respond here on your talk page, I've got it watchlisted. Dreadstar ☥ 02:53, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Jesus, it's like talking to a robot. This is more bureaucratic than the federal government. I have no idea how to indent pages or code anything and have no intention of learning how to simply to correct an article that someone much more able-bodied than I could easily correct. But I'll go to the help pages and ask there. Because apparently asking here (or on the page itself) is not appropriate. Cheers. Oh Twoapplesandanorange (talk) 03:08, 24 May 2011 (UTC). Did I do that right? Twoapplesandanorange (talk) 03:08, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- That is correct. You obeyed the Robot perfectly. Thank you. Have a nice day. Beep! :) Dreadstar ☥ 03:32, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
