Speedy deletion nomination of Jet.com
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jet.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. If you are going to add a source, instead add it to Marc Lore and reinstate the text to Amazon.com. For now I'm going to remove it. We don't need a source on this page when the page of the person you are linking to actually suggests he didn't work for Amazon.com. The Haz talk 04:35, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for the source. Please add that info to the page as described above. The Haz talk 04:36, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
- I think I changed things as you recommended. U9y0x46md247bg5ivb7z (talk) 04:41, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:For Digital Display Jet Logo RGB PRIMARY A55BFF.png
editThanks for uploading File:For Digital Display Jet Logo RGB PRIMARY A55BFF.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:58, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not say who is important
editAs you did at Tiwanaku. We go by reliably published sources. We do sometimes list notable people, but only if they have their own articles. Doug Weller talk 13:23, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
You should check the source first before editing
editI don't know why you changed the text at Pumapunku but in any case it was wrong to begin with and not in the source.[1] Doug Weller talk 13:25, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to abortion, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
