Talk Pages

edit

Hi, UEF Soldier. I just wanted to tell you that it is generally considered bad practice to post irrelevant things on talk pages. Talk pages are generally reserved for questions or propositions about changes to the article. For example, if you wanted to make a fairly large change to the article, you should probably post in the talk page first, or if you have trouble understanding part of the article, etc. Posting statements such as release dates doesn't do much good in talk pages, and may actually make people think that you are a newbie (or course, you technically are, right now, for wikipedia), so you may want to keep that at a minimum. Also, try to not only post notable information in the articles, as you seem to have flooded the new units part of the supcom:fa article. People don't want all of the specific details; only the gist. People have gotten mad at me over that too. Finlly, please cite sources. Wikipedia people hate uncited information, esp. like the additions you made to the new units section, and generally delete them without notice just because they don't have citations. Generally, you can get away without citing only if it is not major. Oh, yes, you may want to make a userpage. When you sign something, like in a talk page with four "~"'s, it likes to your userpage; if you don't have one, the link appears in red, which is a noobism. For example, click on my signature to go to my talk page. -KULSHRAX 22:50, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

P.S. You can customize your sig if you want. I did. But don't make it too fancy, because that's a noobism too.
