Some people from the society doing a demonic tendency are responsible for biological imbalance, destroying the lives of animals, pillaging the earth for their selfish achievement.
On the other side, Goddesses are human beings who are fighting for the survival of the animals, for the protection of the environment to the next generation. Indian young environmentalist Umesh (Vruksha Brahma) is a leading figure in the line of such goddesses.
Umesh born in a small village called Ballur in Belur taluk Hassan District. His parents are Smt Prabhvathi and Sri Nagesh. They are illiterates and belong to economically backward low caste. He was born and bought up in an utter poverty family.
We are all known Smt Saalumarada Thimmakka is the oldest living environmentalist from Karnataka. She is a recipient of many awards other than her latest honor, Padma Shri. Unfortunately, could have no children. Thimmakka started to plant banyan trees in lieu of children. She identifies and Appreciates Umesh’s environmental work and she was legally adopted as a foster son. Now Salumarada Thimmakka is living with Umesh.
In school days itself, he would start the day by delivering newspapers directly to the doorsteps. He was reaching the school directly after distributing the Newspapers to the houses in the city. In school holidays he was doing labor work in villager's farm fields, Coffee Estates, etc., for a daily wage. He started saving money from this wage and started using it for environmental protection. At a very young age, when life is too difficult to lead, he is a true inspiration for all the youth of the world through doing the service of the environmental mother.
Since Umesh was in his 8th standard at school he developed a hobby of planting saplings in public places and used to take care of the saplings till they grew up healthy and stronger. He would also collect the seeds of various kinds that were available locally and were of great importance to the ecological balance of the region and make them sprout into a proud sapling in his school days.
Umesh has rendered a vast service in Nature Conservation. To date, he has planted and conserved about 20,000 [Twenty thousand] plants. They have been planted in public places, school premises, Government office premises, on the hills and bunds. This has helped in the improvement of soil fertility, has reduced soil erosion and has helped in the increase of underground water table level.
Umesh has not only planted the plants himself but has also encouraged others to do so. In the process, he has started a sapling nursery where he has distributed about 5,00,000 [Five lakh] saplings free of cost to those who love to serve mother nature.
More importantly, Umesh has started an initiative of his own called “PRITHVI BACHAO ANDOLAN” for the purpose of Nature Conservation. As a part of this Andolan, Umesh has been visiting villages, towns, and cities and has been creating awareness among people. He has been involved in this Andolan from the year 2006 and since then he has been creating awareness among people regarding Global Warming, Pollution, Water contamination, Deforestation, etc.. and in the process has succeeded in bringing in remarkable changes in Nature Conservation.
Though Umesh is 34 years of age and appears to be at the youth junction of his life, his achievements in Conserving Nature have been a step to be noted for the youth of India. He has also participated in about 600 and odd programs related to Nature Conservation all over the nation. Through his “Prithvi Bachao Andolan,” Umesh has hitherto administered an oath to conserve Mother Nature for about 75,00,000 (Seventy-five Lach) students. This has helped create awareness among those students to preserve and conserve nature. There has been an increase in Elephant and Man conflict in and around Hassan, Tumkur, Mysore, Madikeri and Chamarajanagar Districts. It has caused a lot of loss of lives and property.
As a part of his social service has organized cataract operation and eye care treatment for Beggars, Destitute, Old people, etc. The All India Radio Hassan Division,” Prasara Bharathi” has interviewed Umesh and broadcast his interview all over the state. Dharwad “Prasara Bharathi”, Chitradurga “Prasara Bharathi” and “RED FM” have broadcast his interviews. Umesh has participated in many of the TV channel programs about conserving nature as a topic.
In our country achievers from the sports, field will get identified and honored in their achievement easily and short time. But in the field of Social service especially as Environmentalists it's not so easy to do the achievement in a short time. So I am nominating this young achiever he was started his journey at a very young age it will give encouragement and message for countless youths across the nation especially in the field of Environmental protection.
