Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jolly Nyame, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page People's Democratic Party (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Nigerian Academy of Education moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Nigerian Academy of Education, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Lapablo (talk) 15:57, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. But instead of swiftly moving it to draft space you should have flagged it for under sourced issues so that it can be discussed and appropriate steps taken to add more sources. The sources cited in the article are to me, credible sources and there are at least four of them which also satisfies the guidelines that a new article must have at least three credible sources. Thank you. Ugbedeg (talk) 16:12, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

edit

I see you recently accepted a pending change to January 12 that did not include a direct source.

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the edit notice on that page, the content guideline and/or the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. All new additions without references are now being either reverted on-sight or in some cases where the patroller is especially motivated, immediately sourced. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out.

All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you and please keep up your good work! Toddst1 (talk) 22:05, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for drawing my attention to this. I have learn and I will try to avoid such mistakes in my future edits. Ugbedeg (talk) 10:57, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Reverted pending change

edit

I reverted your approval of these changes to Captain America: The First Avenger because they changed figures and removed a reference without any explanation. It's a change that had previously been rejected, and the IP's been altering figures for other films. Let me know if you have questions. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 12:52, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

You did similar with this edit. The change was to replace a hyphen (-) with an en-dash (–). You claimed they were the same when they were not. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:45, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thanks for the correction. I didn't notice the difference between the two but I'll pay close attention to them in subsequent edits. Ugbedeg (talk) 17:13, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

When there's really no difference between two revisions, the screen will look something like this; the individual revisions aren't shown, and usually there's no option to reject the change. DannyS712 bot IV is set up to review revisions without changes; you can see more examples in its review log. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 03:15, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Tracking your AfD votes and CSD/PROD Nominations

edit

Hi there.

Further to this discussion on Rosguill's talk page, I thought you might find this tool useful for monitoring your or other editors' AfD performance.

And, as I suggested to you at the Teahouse yesterday, don't forget to create your CSD and PROD log pages by activating Twinkle and changing it in Twinkle's preference settings page (they will then appear as sub-pages of your userpage (like this). Finally, do try to avoid coming over as being in a great hurry to gain new editor rights. Demonstrating competence is far more important here than demonstrating enthusiasm. All the best, Nick Moyes (talk) 13:17, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, objectively speaking I do think you have created decent articles so far & definitely have a clue but like Nick Moyes already stated it seems as though you are rushing things a little almost as though you were making up for lost time asides that your efforts thus far are decent and your precocious talents are very much noticed. Keep it up. Celestina007 (talk) 13:34, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

well said. Nick Moyes (talk) 15:07, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nick Moyes, Ah Nick look at this Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ugbedeg, apparently they were a bad faith editor trying to binge collect hats /infiltrate new page revieweing. Celestina007 (talk) 15:43, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Celestina007: What a shame. The over-eagerness to gain rights was a real concern, though I always try to start from an AGF point of view. It is something that, as a Project, we need to be alert to. I'm sure that infiltrating and gaining extra powers (especially admin rights) is a way that certain bad actors will definitely try to do a lot more of in the future. You did well to spot and report this. At some point in the future I'd like to understand more about, and participate in, CheckUser work. But I've still got a lot more to learn as a new admin here. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 22:45, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nick Moyes, you couldn’t have said it any better! The eagerness to hat collect was what made my “foul play” alarm go off Usually from my experience when dealing with Nigerian editors, these so called “new” editors involving themselves in sockputtery aren’t so new, rather are experienced Nigerian editors who were banned or blocked for sock puppetry so the eagerness to hat collect as we observe is due to the fact that they are trying to make up for lost time & just want back the same rights they had in their previous account that was blocked in their current one. You’d notice the editor created clean articles right? but that’s the M/O of the Nigerian editors undisclosed paid editing ring, as what they are really trying to do is; gain multiple rights, gain community trust & then when the community has absolute trust in them and their judgement, they begin to engage in UPE. It’s a lot of my co Nigerian editors engaging in this doltish & belittling act & as I continue to observe them & gather evidence I’d continue to report them accordingly. Clement Nwankwo

edit

Hi - Thank you for creating the article on Nwanko, it's great to see an entry for him as he's clearly notable. I've been copy-editing the article - in the form I reviewed, it read far too much like a professional resumé rather than an entry in an encyclopedia. I also removed material sourced to the BLERF website, this is effectively a self-published source since the website asks for people to send in their CVs. --Goldsztajn (talk) 09:59, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Clement Nwankwo

edit

The article Clement Nwankwo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject of article is undoubtedly mentioned in reliable sources but those sources seem to rely extensively on the publications or speech of the subject. I can’t seem to find at least three independent reliable sources discussing the subject with significant coverage. Being an executive director of an organization doesn’t automatically confer notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

The subject of the article is truly notable and a Wikipedia entry in his name exists in another language. You can check that out. The subject is the spokesperson for a coalition of over 70 civil society organisations. Do a Google search and you will find that he is truly notable. Unless you are saying that all the media coverage of him should be a biography that discusses only him. Ugbedeg (talk) 14:40, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
