editHello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu . This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article? Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 21:54, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- Good morning and thank you very much for the correction. But the update is necessary. Can it be done without the signature been added? I so much appreciate the correction. Ugoji.john (talk) 09:29, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Federal University of Technology Owerri, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:20, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for this obviation. I have leant this one. Ugoji.john (talk) 15:23, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Artificial Intelligence in Nigeria. You added several citations that had nothing at all to do with the content they were supposed to support. Lying about sources and pretending that something is cited to a reliable source is worse than not citing a source at all. If you do this again, you will be blocked. —Kusma (talk) 10:43, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
- And, most of the draft was an unambiguous copyright violation; I see the draft has been deleted. 73.127.147.187 (talk) 11:28, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Neutrality
editIn several of your recent edits (namely here and here), you have added a lot of generic material about forestry that is not specifically related to the article at hand, apparently in an effort to support your thesis about the importance of forest management. But, this is an opinion (a widely held opinion, but an opinion nonetheless), and Wikipedia does not allow editors to express their own personal opinions within their writing. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:48, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
Let's discuss
editIn this edit to Akure Ofosu Forest Reserve you added a significant amount of text. I'd like to discuss it.
Under the heading "Economic importance of Akure-ofosu forest reserve", into which you have placed the sentence:
Indirectly, Akure-ofosu Forest Reserve supports household food security through the sale and exchange of harvested and processed forest products, such as chewing sticks, firewood, rattan, bamboo, and fibers, among others.[1]
References
- ^ The way ahead (PDF) (Report). Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. 1991.
This cited FAO report does talk about the use of forest products, but it does not talk about the Akure Ofosu reserve at all. There is no evidence from this report that the Akure Ofosu reserve serves this function for its inhabitants or neighbors.
You then go on to add a paragraph about timber exploitation, but provide no sources for the claims made here.
Finally, in the third added paragraph, you add a bunch of generic facts about the uses of lumber worldwide. While these facts are cited, they are not specific to the Akure Ofosu reserve.
In summary, this new material is either not relevant to this article, or is not verifiable. Can you give me a good reason why I should not revert it again? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:00, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your corrections. I will review the work and update it accordingly.
- Thanks one again. Ugoji.john (talk) 14:29, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- Please stop adding material to articles that is not relevant to the articles. The article about the Akure Ofosu Forest Reserve does not need generic information about forestry. If there are specific forestry concerns related to this preserve, they can be mentioned, but adding a statement saying, in effect, "Forestry happens in this preserve" is pointless. Your contributed article, Consequences of deforestation on biodiversity conservation
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Consequences of deforestation on biodiversity conservation. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Deforestation. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Deforestation. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:37, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your advice. I was actuarially the one that created it in a new wiki project named Deforestation in Nigeria, This topic is intended to cover only information from Nigeria as the project is meant to add more information into Wikipedia about Nigerian Deforestation. may be I will modify the title to add Nigeria.
- Thank you once again. Ugoji.john (talk) 18:58, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you created this page "in a new wiki project named Deforestation in Nigeria". There is no WP:WikiProject Deforestation in Nigeria. There is an article titled Deforestation in Nigeria, and you could add a section to that article titled "Effects on biodiversity", but that section should limit itself to the effects on biodiversity in Nigeria (e.g. statistics about loss of species or diminution of populations of endangered species, etc.). This new article that is presently nominated for deletion does not limit itself to biodiversity in Nigeria, but talks about biodiversity effects of deforestation in general as a global phenomenon. That topic is already covered at the Deforestation article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:20, 25 May 2023 (UTC)

- Once again, you have created an entirely new article that covers a topic already covered at Wikipedia. You may have wanted to expand the existing article, but that's not what you did. And your content is generic, not specifically related to Nigeria. You seem to find generic articles about "biodiversity" and "deforestation" and try to tie that into a situation in Nigeria, but you have not provided any evidence that the information actually applies to Nigeria. Since you have repeated this pattern of editing repeatedly, I'm going to suggest that you may want to take a break from editing Wikipedia and read more about how best to do so. I recommend that you start with the Wikipedia:Introduction and work through those tutorials. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:49, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your time. I may need your help to modify the topic. What I have in mind is to write on the effects of deforestation on every living thing in the forest area in Nigeria and how to protect, uplift, and scientifically manage the forest so that it can have sustainable benefits for the present and future generations. Ugoji.john (talk) 17:02, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- For a starting point, you might start by editing the Deforestation in Nigeria article rather than trying to create a new article. In the Deforestation in Nigeria article, there is a Impact section where you could create a new subsection called "impact on biodiversity" where you could list specific impacts. Here, rather than broad sweeping statements about how deforestation affects biodiversity wherever it occurs, you should limit the material to the specific impacts in Nigeria: how many species have been lost in Nigeria; how many species are in Nigeria are endangered due to loss of forest habitat, etc. In all cases, make sure that any facts you introduce are backed up by sources that specifically cover the loss of biodiversity in Nigeria. There is also in the Deforestation in Nigeria article a section on Response. You could add to this section any responses that you see that have been implemented that are not already covered. Again, rely on Nigeria-specific sources for this. Regarding coverage of "how to protect, uplift, and scientifically manage", stick to what has been done and reported on by reliable sources; Wikipedia is not a place to editorialize about what we think should happen. Good luck with your editing! WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:17, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
