editHi Uisce1! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Paddy Fahey (athlete) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - Sumanuil. - Hi Sumanuil. This is my father and I do know the facts of his life hence I'm correcting inaccurate information such as the year of his death and just adding a little bit of his successes seeing as some random person whom I don't know has already put something on there. So what do I need to do to keep the little piece that I uploaded on there please? Thanks Uisce1 (talk) 09:43, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
- Sumanuil, I also want to upload a picture of him but that does not seem possible either. It's from the 1948 Olympics and outside of copyright I would say by now. In any case, Journalists use it whenever they write anything about my father. I am a tv producer so I get that it's difficult to verify everything etc Uisce1 (talk) 10:03, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello, Uisce1. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Paddy Fahey (athlete), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 05:46, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ok you have given me a lot of information that is not pertaining to me or this situation. All I seek to do is correct his year of death, obviously I have evidence of that if required plus add the small paragraph about his career. No links with any organizations, no spamming, nothing. So I will propose changes on the talk pages as you suggested and we will see what happens. Paddy Fahey died in 2006 not 2008. Thanks in advance. Uisce1 (talk) 11:00, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
