Hi Vikrant, thanks for contributing to articles but please don't remove merge tags from articles without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. I have put the tag back; it is now suggesting a merge to Operation Mo, which was the Japanese name for their strategy in New Guinea.Grant65 | Talk 09:06, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Vikrant Phadkay,

I noticed you recently created the article about Battle of Cantigny. I just wanted to let you know that you can announce any new Germany-related articles at Portal:Germany/New article announcements and Portal:Germany/New articles. That way other users interested in the topic can see them and might improve them.

Pokemon game edits

edit

Hi there. I notice you've been adding quite a lot of detail to various pokemon pages, particularly regarding details to the game. I'd like to draw your attention to WP:PAC/S#In_the_video_games, a page that lists the guidelines for appropriate descriptions in pokemon articles. It may also be useful to look at WP:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_an_indiscriminate_collection_of_information, particularly point 4, Instruction manuals, where it states Wikipedia is not a game guide.

Finally, I'd like to respectfully point out that several of your recent pokemon edits have contained factual errors. For example, Wobuffet has the ability Shadow Tag not Cleanse Tag, and the Speed statistic is actually one of the more important stats in competitive battling. While your intentions to improve the pokemon articles are admirable and most welcome, perhaps it would be better to first make sure the information you insert is correct.

Cheers. Bhamv 15:57, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

re:Metagross

edit

If it's in a guide, please provide the source. I've added a citation tag to the statement, if you are unable to add a source within a few weeks, I'm afraid the statement will still have to go, as it's too controversial to stay without citation.

With all due respect, based on the edits you've made thus far to Pokemon articles, I'm not confident in your Pokemon knowledge. Several of the edits you've made have been your personal opinion, others have been unsound opinion, yet others have been outright wrong. I am also highly skeptical regarding claims of Metagross being weaker to Water than to Fire, as neither Psychic nor Steel type is weak against Water, while Steel is weak against Fire. I personally have beaten all GBA versions of Pokemon many times, and I have never noticed Metagross suffering a Water weakness.

Thanks. Bhamv 05:20, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am being civil, thank you very much. At no point did I make any personal attacks and I would prefer not to be accused of such, if that's all right with you.

Posting your own conclusions based on your experience in battling qualifies as Original Research, and violates one of the three pillars of Wikipedia, namely that no Original Research is allowed. Please see WP:OR. Thus, the burden of proof is on you, and your willingness to find the guide that states Water attacks are more effective against Metagross than Fire attacks. You are absolutely correct when you say citations don't have material restrictions, but Original Research is not a citation. If you can find the game guide, that's perfectly fine to cite though.

Furthermore, Kyogre's Hydro Pump is a 120 power move, off a Pokemon who has base 150 Special Attack, sports Drizzle which boosts Water moves even further, and gets STAB. For this to be a fair test, you'd have to find a Fire type Pokemon with the same Special Attack stat and use Fire Blast while Sunny Day or Groudon's Drought is in effect. Did you do such a test? If so, which Pokemon did you use? If not, how can you claim Water is more effective than Fire?

Finally, you may have noticed this line on every edit page: If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it. It is not necessary for me to obtain your permission before changing your edits, particularly if they are incorrect or unencyclopedic. I removed content based on Wikipedia policy (particularly the no game guide part) and the wider consensus of editors.

Thanks.

re:Metagross

edit

The link you gave says nothing about Metagross being weaker to Water than Fire. It does, though say Fire is effective: Since Steel is all melty, bring a strong Fire Type.

You are correct in saying that it would be better to edit unwelcome changes, rather than deleting outright, and you'll notice that's what I've been trying to do. Regrettably, though, when the changes blatantly violate Wikipedia policy, there is no choice but to remove.

Best regards. Bhamv 06:56, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, yes. So to paraphrase what the guide says:
1. Use Fire against Metagross
2. Use Fire or Electric against Skarmory
3. Use Ground against Aggron
4. Use Water against everybody else
5. Swampert is useful here (I assume because he gets both Ground and Water attacks)
6. Surf and Muddy Water are good attacks to use.
So where does it say anything about using Water against Metagross? Furthermore, where does it say Water compares favorably to Fire when battling Metagross? Cheers. Bhamv 07:16, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please don't insult my intelligence with such messages, because quite frankly it's beneath both of us. You are not a stupid person, so please don't deliberately act like one just to make a point.
There are only three Steel types on Steven's team: Metagross, Skarmory and Aggron. Skarmory and Aggron are accounted for in the guide: Face Skarmory with Fire ot Electric, Aggron with Ground (Earthquake), while Metagross is not directly addressed. Given this, it is obvious the line Since Steel is all melty, bring a strong Fire Type refers to Metagross, Skarmory and Aggron, and alternative strategies for Skarmory and Aggron are already given. Thus, the 'melty' line applies to Metagross.
Therefore, your line "I can't even see a capital M, forget Metagross" is frankly pitiful. It's saddening to see someone stoop so low as to resort to such misguided pedantry, especially when he has made it abundantly clear he has the reading comprehension skills to interpret the passage accurately, despite living in a non-English-speaking country. You can do better; I choose not to believe you're such a small person.
However, if we explore this from another direction, let us assume I managed to misread the guide. Let us assume that, somehow, the guide does NOT say to use Fire against Metagross. Let us assume that the line Face Skarmory with Fire ot Electric, Aggron with Ground (Earthquake) and everyone else with Water includes Metagross in the "everyone else." If that's the case, could you please point out to me where the guide compares the relative effectiveness of Fire and Water attacks on Metagross? Could you please point out to me where the guide states Water is more effective than Fire?
I'll save you some time now. You can't, because the guide doesn't say Water is more effective than Fire. For that reason, I reverted an earlier edit where you used the guide as a source for the statement that Water is more effective than Fire against Metagross, because (once again) the guide doesn't say Water is more effective than Fire.
But let us explore the possibility that Metagross is, indeed, weaker against Water. I'd be perfectly willing to accept such information if you can find a reputable guide that states it. I'd be surprised, to be sure, since Steel types are weak against Fire but not against Water while Psychic types are neutral against both, and thus this information would be going against all established Pokemon wisdom for the Advance generation, but if it's published somewhere then I'll accept it. And so will all other Wikipedia editors, because the information is sourced and thus conforms to Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Therefore, if you DO find a reputable guide that makes such a statement, feel free to add the information to the article and include the citation.
Regarding your experience of using Kyogre's Hydro Pump against Metagross, as mentioned in a previous message that is not a fair, accurate, scientific test. If you want to use your personal tests to experiment the relative effectivenesses of Fire and Water attacks, you'd have to use controlled conditions. Fire conditions equivalent to Kyogre's Hydro Pump would be to use Fire Blast from a Fire type Pokemon (for STAB) who happens to have the same Special Attack stat as Kyogre, while Sunny Day or Groudon's Drought is in effect. It may interest you to know NO Pokemon can do this, since Kyogre's Special Attack is matched only by Deoxys FireRed, Rayquaza and Mewtwo, and none of them are Fire type. No Fire types even come close, not even Legendaries such as Ho-Oh, Entei and Moltres. Source: http://www.smogon.com/rs/pokemon/
I'm not interested in debating this further on our talk pages, because as I mentioned I now find this beneath me. Therefore, if you have any further input regarding this discussion, please put it on the Metagross talk page, where all interested editors can have a say. I will not reply to any further messages you leave me regarding Metagross, and will remove any messages you leave regarding this topic. I will, however, continue to undo any uncited, game-guide or otherwise inappropriate edits made to Pokemon pages that I happen to come across, as per Wikipedia policy.

re: Milotic

edit

As mentioned in the edit I undid, a trainer on Route 120 has a Milotic in Pokemon Sapphire. This same trainer replaces her Milotic with a Sableye in Pokemon Emerald though. In Pokemon Emerald, Milotic also appears in Pike Queen Lucy's team, in the Battle Frontier. Finally, if the person you mix records with has a Milotic in his/her team, then you may very well find yourself battling it if you choose to battle in your Secret Base.

All in all, it's more accurate to say you battle "few" Milotic during the games than saying you battle "one" Milotic only. Bhamv 12:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re. Crawdaunt

edit

Hi! I'm not the right person for asking stuff like that I'm mainly involved in character articles. Good going, though, I see you've revamped the entire beginning section. However, the "Characteristics" section still needs to be out-of-universe, i.e., it should talk of Crawdaunt as fictional creatures, not real ones. My recommendation would be mentioning where each of those lines comes from. Crawdaunt don't really shed their shells in the games, for instance, so it might be helpful to add "According to the <name of game> PokéDex" to the beginning of that sentence. And it still needs a whole bunch of references. Cheers, The Raven's Apprentice(Profile|PokéNav|Trainer Card) 16:00, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Aggron tcg.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Aggron tcg.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

I've been going through lots of the pokemon images lately, and i came acoss this image that seems to be used more for decoration. While i'm sure the Groudon article could be improved with a screenshot, there are many others that would be better at fulfilling the the requirement of "contributing significantly." If you're using an emulator, a screenshot of Groudon in the cave, or of Groudon and Kyogre's battle in Sootopolis (Emerald) would probably contribute much more. You can upload over the old image (and subsequently automatically fix any occurences of the old image in articles) by clicking here. Hm... Go ahead. It works either way, I suppose, but it's not necessarily a better way simply because of the Torchic article's FA status. In any case, leave "In the" in the headers, since they're about Crawdaunt in the foo rather than the foo about Crawdaunt.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 15:08, 3 March 2007 (UTC) on User talk:M_C_Y_1008Reply

How does that stuff (that I removed) help? The information about the TCG, anime and series as a whole is entirely unnecessary to the Crawdaunt article. This information can be found in the specific articles about those things (Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon (anime), Pokémon (video games), Pokémon) and does not pertain directly to Crawdaunt; thus, that would be off-topic. Article stuffing. If Crawdaunt can't become a GA without stuffing its article with unnecessary details, then it doesn't deserve to be a GA.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 15:08, 3 March 2007 (UTC) on User talk:M_C_Y_1008Reply

I've explained my edits. If you wish me to explain any more, please do ask what you would like to know. Stuffing information without regard to whether it helps a reader's understanding of Crawdaunt is not useful and in fact reduces the article's quality. It'd be like talking about New York, then deciding to explain in detail what New England is, then the United States of America, then the origin of the name for the American continents, then describing the Earth, then the Solar System, then the Milky Way, then the universe. Only the information explaining New York would be useful to a reader's understanding of New York—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 17:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC) on User talk:M_C_Y_1008Reply

um... actually, if you hadn't noticed, i've been operating at a VERY reduced capacity lately, not only b/c we bought a Wii and DS at the same time when DP came out, but also because of rl stuff. At any rate, even if i were, calling such an act illegal is simply untrue. there are no "laws" to break. and this topic has gone through the normal procedures discussed at places like WP:POL, so saying anyone is violating policy is also a mischaracterization. I'm really only taking the time to ask you this because you seem so angry, and i know that wikipedia can be very frustrating sometimes (i recently just had my header templates deleted without - what i felt - adequate discussion on my defensive points). So two things: 1. Whatever happened to you making Feebas and Milotic GAs? 2. What specifically don't you like about the merger proposal? I'm sure you realize that "I don't like merging articles" is not a good reason, as it's subjective. So what negative impacts do you feel this merger will have as far as the goals of wikipedia? -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 15:30, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dude, calm down

edit

Ignore, for the moment, the fact that we've disagreed in the past and please focus on what I'm going to say here. Your rants on the merge articles' AFD discussion are unlikely to help your case. The merge project was agreed upon based on consensus at the WikiProject Pokémon talk pages. If you disagreed with the merge when it was being proposed, why did you not speak up then? Why did you not present your arguments then? The details of the merge are still being hashed out right now, why do you not present your arguments on the talk page now? Ad hominem attacks, obscure metaphors (like that Gameboy mouth organ thing) and empassioned pleas devoid of logic or arguments will convince no one; instead, they will only prejudice your case.

If you believe the merger should not continue, tell us why. Post your thoughts on the WikiProject Pokémon talk page and listen to the rebuttals, presenting your own counterpoints if necessary. Address the concerns regarding the current articles, and show how they can be remedied. And, above all, remember to stay calm and civil.

You've already been blocked once because you let your passion for Pokémon get in the way of your good sense (Creating articles based on a merge consensus does not violate WP:POINT, but unilaterally blanking articles clearly does). I don't think anyone wants a repeat scenario. I believe your enthusiasm for Pokémon can be an incredible asset to the Project as long as you use it in a calm, rational manner. What do you say?

Orphaned non-free image (Image:BulbasaurandTotodile.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BulbasaurandTotodile.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Fair use rationale for Image:Young_Lugia_anime.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Young_Lugia_anime.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 16:00, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:SusanGriffiths.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:SusanGriffiths.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:33, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

The articles are being merged. If you have a problem with it, take it up at the project talk page. TTN 15:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Have you been part of the current discussion? It has shown that only the ones with verifiable and non-trivia real world information will be staying. TTN 15:54, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Again, this is a project thing, so take it up there. For now, please just let the article be redirected. TTN 15:58, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please don't just pass it off like that. It doesn't solve the sourcing issues right away, but it'll bring these down to a manageable level, and allow them to be sourced easily in the future. It is just your opinion that this is vandalism, so either take it up at the project or leave it alone. TTN 16:04, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Mewtwo is not a quality article. The only reason that it is still there is because it has a better chance of becoming good than most others. It may end up merged as well. TTN 16:09, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Only one to five will be left over in the end. There is just not enough real world information on the single creatures (or in universe for many). Anyways, if the people at the project say to merge it, are you going to let it be redirected or are you just going to keep going with this? TTN 16:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:MeganMcCormick.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:MeganMcCormick.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 01:14, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

GoldenEye vehicle and gadgets section

edit

Please do not remove the vehicle and gadget section from the GoldenEye article. The first and third paragraphs provide real-life information about the BMW Z3 and Omega watch, with references. The second and fourth paragraphs are pretty useless, however they should be kept until they can be replaced with something more useful, or with some real-life information about the DB5 and gadgets. As for the "already in the main article" comment, a quick CTRL+F for "BMW" shows that there is no mention of the BMW Z3 beyond the vehicle and gadgets section, and the same goes with the Omega watch. As I mentioned in my edit summary, which would also be a useful thing for you to do more often, this article has been criticised for not being comprehensive enough, so I don't know how you figured that removing a whole section of unrepeated information would improve the article - • The Giant Puffin • 18:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I noticed you recently reviewed, and passed this article. First, when you pass an article, don't forget to remove it from the good article candidates page, and add it to the good article page. I have done it for you this time.

Secondly, I disagree with your assessment, and have found significant issues with it that are in conflict with the good article criteria. I have left my full review on the article's talk page. For the attention of Vikrant I'm still wondering why won't you respond to me?. I would gain a lot more respect for you and back off if you would please at least talk to me. Of course you have a right to edit but if you are a member of the Bond project you need to discuss articles and problems in a mature way with other editors. Now surely you are getting this message ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 16:21, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Multiple warnings, each repeat warnings, PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND HEED THESE

edit

You've received notices about these before, and you continue to practice discouraged editing practices. Your contributions to the Bond film articles are appreciated, but the disruptive nature of your edits makes it harder on other editors. If you continue in such behavior, without responding to others, your edits may be treated as vandalism, as I believe they were today. David Spalding (  ) 21:58, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please remember to mark your edits, as you did to From Russia with Love (film) as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you.

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you.

  • Who's this? Please sign comments. And summaries arent always necessary, particularly when I tick m. Did you fell like committing suicide when I missed out an edit summary once I am fed up with these same recurring suggestions. Any further messages about summaries will be removed. OK? Vikrant Phadkay 14:49, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hey, 1) I did sign my comment, above. 2) Edit summaries are highly recommended, as vandal patrols (which I participate in, time allowing) target edits without summaries as candidates for RVV. In my reviews of your contributions, I've found you don't leave out summaries "once," you do it regularly. 3) Removing warnings from your Talk Page is is generally considered uncivil and discouraged. ... Calm down, this isn't a personal attack, I'm trying to suggest practices which will make you a better editor and ensure your contributions are seen as constructive. If you can't take some constructive criticism, you might not want to participated in WP. David Spalding (  ) 13:53, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Example: here's an edit you marked as minor which does not fit the criteria. Please review and abide by Help:Minor edit so you won't get chided (or reverted) for misunderstandings over your edits. - David Spalding (  )

Response

I dunno mate mate but I swear on my life I haven't been sending you messages only the last one on July 30 which I signed. You've got it wrong again . Believe it or not I also have got better things to do than keep hastling you -I've been preparing a valuable article on Deforestation in Cambodia a pressing problem that needs global awareness. -Check my editing history if you don't believe me. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am talking about your edit summary in FRWL. You called many edits as vandalism. Vikrant Phadkay 15:11, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

And also I'd like to let you know that James Bond articles aren't the centre of my attention on wikipedia. As fun as the genre is, I devote much time to other pressing encyclopedic articles about world geography and culture and the environment. I haven't even so much as looked at a Bond article today. I used to edit them every week or two and gradually develop them, but if you are making rapid changes on them every day which other users of the project are clearly getting frustrated with its affecting concentration on my other work anyway. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:14, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Whose getting frustrated? Vikrant Phadkay 15:18, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

'comment- well who sent you those edit warnings then?-because I certainly didn't. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs I worked together with David Spalding to correct your mistakes. Look I'm on your side here - some of your editing is good and I approve of your idea to intergrate many of the scruffy looking list types sections into text with proper references. This is absolutely the way to go but you often neglect important or relevant info in doing so - and of course you don't use edit summaries so its difficult to track what you edited and didn't. Now can I please return to my work ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Octopussy

edit

Now on a friendly level -which is what I'm about -(despite my evil quest for global domination and love of white cats). Octopussy needs a great deal more information on production and filming and reception. If you are lucky enough to have the DVD it would be a cool idea to watch the special documentary and add it to the article like i did on the effects section of Casion Royale 2006. If you're working on this now you could possibly check the official website also see if it covers reception. Personally I think Octopussy is one of the most stylish Bond films of all, I love the Indian location and Kamal's sheeps eye!!! Now lighten up. Regards and good luck ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The thing is when attempting to promote the films to a higher status often we are restricted to the number of fairuse images we can incorporate. It is always a good thing to try to use free images of important locations or images that combine characters together like we did with From Russia With Love. I guess the image of Octopussy and Bond is ok (although I intially objected cos he looks so old!!!) but the Kamal Khan image is also highly needed. Hmmm. I also like the James Brolin audition shot but we may need to compromise one over the other . What do you think amigo? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:30, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I also created articles on David Meyer & Anthony Meyer (actor) to fill in the red links!! Do you have the Bond boxset of DVDs? like myself? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:33, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah thats a pity. I've watched these films so many times I got bored of them!!! I'll see about watching the Octopussy special DVD later and see what info I can conjure up. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:38, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Bond and Octopussy.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Your GA nomination of James Bond (films)

edit

The article James Bond (films) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold.  It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within ten days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:James Bond (films) for things needed to be addressed.Lilac Soul (talk contribs count) 11:27, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well for me the article is missing vital ingredients. Why doesn't it attempt to discuss the essential ingredients to the films such as exotic locations and cars, beautiful women, casinos and tuxedos etc? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 14:44, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Bond_and_Octopussy.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bond_and_Octopussy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:25, 4 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  But|seriously|folks  04:25, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know - I didn't say anything about the jet or even the Mercedes car. -These are mentioned in the text well done. But this info is still needed: "A watch branded by Seiko contained a beacon that leads Bond to a Fabergé egg. A pen containing aqua regia[1] and a bugging device was also given to Bond by Q-Branch"

We can leave out the crocidile sub and the monitor but if you can find a way to intergrate the above info into the filming I'll be pleased. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 16:31, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

My feeling on this would be to cover the Faberge egg a bit more - I beleive there is an article on it - perhaps a bit of historical info and how the producers incorporated it into the film. More needs to be discussed about the Seiko watch tracking device and briefly the pen. The egg and the watch were instrumental to the plot. Need to link together India and East germany. We also need to cover the filming process a bit more - the dvd documentary covers the order of the filmign in detail ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 16:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC).Reply

But can I just say my respect for you has increased 10 fold already within hours by the fact you have responded to me. I always try to treat people as they treat me and vice versa. Later I'll try to think of some other info I can find to use but I'm busy at present on other work. I'll see your work later. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Bond film layouts

edit

I think you've done a top-notch job on the many Bond film articles, but I do have a problem with the Production sections being placed before Plot. The Filmaker did this for Casino Royale, as he did for his FA Star Wars articles, but he does this so when he adds two images, it won't be squashed against the infobox. However, fair use rules have been tightened, and I think it would be better to put the Plot section over the Production sections. This will allow you to increase the production section, tighten the plot as context for the whole article, and add sub-sectioning to production, without users looking at the contents without wondering where it is. If that all sounds confusing, well, don't worry. You might also want to archive your talk page, it looks big. Cheerio! Alientraveller 12:32, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of Octopussy

edit

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Octopussy you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 3-4 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. VanTucky (talk) 03:13, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Vikrant!!. I was concerned you might not like it -I relieved you do. I've done some work on all of them!!! - I had a marathon the other night!!!! Die Another Day, You Only live Twice, for your eyes only, and living daylights look noticably different. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:39, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Houndoom tcg.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Houndoom tcg.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 09:11, 18 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Bond as clown.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bond as clown.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. I like that image but we now have three images of Bond, two of Octopussy and none of anybody else. Please can we restore the Kamal Khan image or at least one showing him and Govinda or several characters. There are too many images of Bond ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:07, 18 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

If anything I think we should keep the clown image and remove the one of Bond and Octopussy. After all these two are already pictured in the poster. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:14, 18 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Believe me I would rather have screenshots but you know how strict wikipedia is on images if you want the film to be promoted to a GA and then FA. They are tagged as copywrighted for a reason -there are only so many images we can get away with - as a " free encyclopedia" we are lucky to have any at all. This is why is always good to try to use some free images into the equation which significantly identify the location or whatever. In my view the free image close up of the palace is of a higher quality than that screenshot. As this article is promoted believe me the images will be a problem. -you've seen how stingy the use of copywrighted images is on Casino Royale and Goldeneye. The Octopussy artilce is looking good though ♦ Hairless Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

My Musical GA

edit

Thanks so much for reviewing (and passing) the article My Musical. Very much appreciated. My ultimate goal is (of course) FA status, so if you had any suggestions for the road to FA, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! --Gpollock 03:32, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, very helpful comments! --Gpollock 21:50, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
