I'm afraid it isn't going to be enough. Besides independent sources, you also need secondary sources from areas such as newspaper and magazine articles. Per Wikipedia's notability guidelines, you'll need sources that show why your grandfather is notable; more specifically, why he should be noted in an encyclopedia.
