LIGO Picture
editI'd like to use the picture of the North LIGO arm for a physics journal, but I don't know who to give credit for the picture. COuld I get a name, or organization to give credit to? Marc Baron 16:41, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Richland, Washington
editAs you can see, the page was absolutely overflowing with photos--I know you're probably very proud of them, but I think that there are too many. I'm not getting rid of them... I'm just moving them over to the page for the Tri-Cities, Washington. I figure that the "nature-based" pictures ought to move, and the more "business-y" ones ought to stay, but that's just me. So, the point is, please don't panic when you look at the page and wonder "hey, where the heck are the pictures I took?" Thanks... and welcome to Wikipedia! (And thank you very, very much for uploading all those great photos and your work on expanding Richland's page!) =) Matt Yeager 19:56, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Columbia River photo
editUmptanum, I don't know what article you're going to put this picture in, but if you took the picture may I recommend also adding it to the Wikimedia Commons project.
Thanks for a beautiful and moving photo. Pictures like that make me regret having moved back east. :D Justin Eiler 01:16, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Pleased you like this one, even though its not one of my favorites. I rather like the wind turbine series [like this picture].
- Be happy to put them in Commons, but I don't yet know how. Umptanum 01:21, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
thanks!
editThanks for making your photo of the LIGO tunnel available! I've used it in my online textbook Electricity and Magnetism, on p. 127. You are of course properly credited in the photo credits in the back of the book, and the licensing information is given. The book is dual-licensed under GFDL and CC-BY-SA.--Ben Crowell, crowell06 at lightandmatter dot com (April 2nd, 2006)
So welcome me already!
editUsed to be Umptanum but the password is inexorably & irretrievably lost.
If you doubt my authenticity, just compare three photos; two uploaded by User:Umptanum and the third uploaded by User:UmptanumRedux. Note the photo metadata matches, down to the camera make and date. But I might counterfit that, so next consider that the pictures are clearly taken at the same time (compare, for example, the clouds).
