Editing with a possible conflict of interest
editHello, UnderpantsPuppet. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--SamHolt6 (talk) 03:07, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
@SamHolt6: Hello, I wish I was paid for it! Do people actually get paid to do this? Please return the page to where it was before. I can give you plenty of "undersourced" hot sauce articles that have been on wikipedia for years. This is a good example of one that is well sourced, has pictures, and is informative about a popular hot sauce brand. You deleted the article without going through normal AfD procedures and removed the progress I made on it when it was live. I do not want to have to keep posting this multiple times. Thank you. - @UnderpantsPuppet: Hello. Yes, some people are paid to edit Wikipedia, and some companies edit via employees or third party services. Now onto your other concerns. One, pointing out the deficiencies of other articles does not absolve a better article from being held against Wikipedia policy. WP:OTHERSTUFF is a good essay to read on this point. Onto the issue of the article (or draft) location, I am both a new page review and a reviewer for WP:AFC, so moving the article falls neatly within my purview, per WP:DRAFTIFY. The draft remains in need of work, particularly if the subject is to meet WP:NCORP. You are free to submit the draft to WP:AFC at any time, but note that such a submission at this point will in all likelyhood result in a rejection. Further copy-paste moves (like you conducted before) will be draftified or nominated for proper deletion if they do not meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion. Best.--SamHolt6 (talk) 03:42, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- @SamHolt6: Noted, however I struggle to find how it is fair that this article, one of the better ones among similar ones, is being prevented from reaching the mainspace and editors that have the ability to improve it. You might as well nominate the dozens of hot sauce articles that are significantly worse than this one for deletion as well. I would assume that finding sources like the New York Times to write about a hot sauce is difficult to do and quite unheard of, so I'll see if there is any possible way to meet the expectations of a Wiki article and then move it to the mainspace directly instead of copying and pasting it so that it at least faces multiple points of view on its deletion. Thank you, UnderpantsPuppet (talk) 03:56, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- @UnderpantsPuppet: fair enough, you are within your rights to move the draft to the mainspace if you so choose, but note that (pending more improvement) I have qualms about the topic's notability. As far as the other article(s) you have hinted at are concerned, I would be willing to look at them and judge them against notability criteria as well if you were to provide links.--SamHolt6 (talk) 04:15, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Trade Direct Insurance
editHello UnderpantsPuppet,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Trade Direct Insurance for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
