Hi Unequivocal. You seem to have been having a bit of trouble in your first few edits on Wikipedia, and I'm sorry that you're having a rough ride. The early days here can often be a steep learning curve. I've left a welcome message at the top of this page with some useful links, but given your current situation I'd like to point you at one particular guideline - Bold, revert, discuss. This describes the basic process of dealing with a content dispute on Wikipedia - you make a bold edit (such as removing the "former" modifier at Chris Crocker), another user disagrees and reverts to the previous version of the article, and you then discuss the change. I see from your edit summaries that you have some reason to believe that the word "former" is unwarranted - what you therefore need to do is go to the article's talk page and start a thread explaining why you think he is still active in that field. You will probably find that other users dispute this, so you'll need to locate some reliable sources to back up your claim.
