Proposed deletion of Callum Rose (footballer)

edit

The article Callum Rose (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Elburton Villa attendances vs Plymouth

edit

Hello. Do you have a source for either of the attendance figure you added to the Elburton Villa article? You cited this page when adding them, but it doesn't contain either figure (and actually contradicts the 2013 one, which you gave as "over 900". I can't find figures for either matches anywhere. Cheers, Number 57 13:53, 29 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Having done some digging to support the statement of 'record attendance' for the 2015 game (which was made from memory of me being there over 2 years ago) I have found this on an archive site which cites 2015 attendance as 'around 1000'. We all know how shoddy a source Wiki can be, but in 2015-16 Plymouth Argyle F.C. season, even with a 'citation needed' notice, the attendance is still noted as 1,028 - a figure that must have been added shortly after the game perhaps using a figure from a tabloid newspaper report. Contradicting that figure of roughly 1,000 now, is a tweet from a tabloid journalist stating attendance of 858. All I could find for the 2013 game was the official PAFC match report that describes the attendance as 'more than 600'.
I now notice the wording of the EVFC site's history section - On the 9th July 2013 we recorded our record our highest home attendance at Haye Road when a crowd of over 1,000 came to watch the local pre-season derby visit of then ’League Two side’ Plymouth Argyle. The use of 'then' suggests to me that this page has been created very recently as Argyle are now a League One side, so it is possible that the writer of that page got the two dates muddled up.
Having done more digging, it would appear that neither of these games could reputably take the claim, but instead a friendly in 2016 that ended 12-0, also vs Argyle. So after all my research, I really don't know, perhaps this is one of things that will always be disputed, sorry. Unnamedbanana (talk) 14:43, 29 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
The attendance was first added to the Argyle season article by an IP as 1,000, then amended by another IP to 1,028 several months later. Number 57 19:21, 29 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Don't remove red links from dab pages, please, as you did here. They are supposed to be there. See MOS:DABRED. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kevin Nancekivell, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Sheridan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Freddie Issaka moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Freddie Issaka, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:31, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Jack Matthews (footballer)

The article Jack Matthews (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article does not establist notability; sources cited are primarily match reports about the club rather than the player himself. Merely playing in a professional league is no longer sufficient.
