Do you have a citation for this:

"A popular myth has him appearing in a scene of The Great Escape but this movie was filmed while he was still attending Ripon."

1) Where is this "popular myth"? I never heard of it. Looks like you might be trying to perpetuate it.

Please cite verifiable sources.

Also, films, books, television shows, newspapers, etc., titles are italicized. See: Wikipedia:Titles.

2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

No, I'm not kidding

No, I'm not kidding. You shouldn't describe an upcoming event as if it were in the past; and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. More appropriate would have been to write "...and is scheduled to appear in the final film" It's called "accuracy", not "pedantry."

For recent examples, consider the appearance of Christopher Lee in the final "Lord of the Rings" movie. It was filmed. It was announced. He gave interviews about it (his final scene was cut from the second film); it was in the trailers. And then, when the final film was actually released, he was left on the cutting room floor. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
