Well I guess I get to initiate your talk page.
The question on last known position has been definitely answered, take a look at the AF447 talk page and the map on the main page. The coordinates and the time given were exactly correct 02:10 at 2.98N and 30.59 were given in the "Interim report on the accident on 1st June 2009 to the Airbus A330-203 registered F-GZCP operated by Air France flight AF 447 Rio de Janeiro - Paris" (pdf). The search area involved 40km outward from this position.PB666 yap 20:14, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Note: A position report message (AOC type) was received at 2 h 10 min 34 s, between two maintenance messages. This can be explained by the fact that AOC messages take priority over maintenance messages. So now you have and exact time and an exact position.PB666 yap 20:14, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

- 2:10:41 - .1/WRN/WN0906010210 228301206FLAG ON F/O PFD SPD LIMIT
- According to the way ACARS sends messages this had to have occurred between 2:10:30 and 2:10:33 so that gives a relatively precise position of the AC.PB666 yap 12:11, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
