Dean McVeigh

edit

You asked on my talk page: "I'm finding a bit hard to understand the logic of why Dean McVeigh is not notable for an encylopedia article, especially in light of his pursuit of contempt of court proceedings to shut down a website critical of him. Can you help me with this?"

On reading the article, it sruck me as being about someone who was not sufficiently notable for an article on wikipedia. I reviewed the criteria on WP:BIO and found that although he had had a few mentions in the Melbourne newspapers, he probably met none of the criteria, not even "Persons achieving renown or notoriety for their involvement in newsworthy events". When there is some doubt about whether an article should be included in wikipedia or otherwise, the matter is referred to wikipedia community debate as it has been in this case. I see you have expressed your views at this debate. The community concensus will determine whether or not the article stays on wikipedia. --A Y Arktos 19:06, 23 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
