@Kudpung: lol. I didnt think it was anything serious. I mean, it was just a suggestion. But I apologise if it was something serious. Also, I will be very thoughtful from now on :) —usernamekiran(talk) 07:56, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Jovan Jelovac

Hi, I'm having trouble understanding what part of the article is not neutral. Can you indicate exactly which sentences or word phrasings are non-neutral? Thanks for your help, Abonzz (talk) 17:52, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

@Abonzz: Hi. It is not about a particular part, but about the article as the whole. In the current state, the article praises Jovan Jelovac, hence it is not neutral. Before adding the tag, I tried to work on the article/issue; but I couldnt do it. After receiving your message here, I posted a request at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard. Somebody would work on the article soon. I will also try to work on it. If there are any questions or doubts, please feel free to ask :) —usernamekiran(talk) 18:07, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
@Usernamekiran: Without specific points, it's hard to understand. However, I've re-organized the paragraphs. Hopefully that makes a difference! Abonzz (talk) 20:36, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Harvest Moon move

An editor moved Harvest Moon (video game series) after your move based on consensus. Can you undo the move? TarkusABtalk 21:45, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

@TarkusAB: Hi. Thanks for letting me know, and I apologise for the delayed reply. I did not come online till now after you posted the message. Also, I see the issue was handled soon after you posted here. Thanks again. See you around :) —usernamekiran(talk) 04:57, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

It was probably just attention-seeking

I saw your question at LovelyGirl7's talk page. I do not know exactly why "she" did all the sockpuppetry, but my guess is that she was probably looking for attention. The one common theme between the master account and all the puppets was that all of them displayed subtle indications of low self esteem and a desire for other users' approval. The main account showed this by constantly asking other users to give feedback on "her" articles and trying to continually promote them in status, which is a good way of seeking validation. The puppets, however, viciously attacked the main account, presumably with the expectation that other users would defend it and thereby reinforce the person operating all of them's sense of self-worth. The other users did defend the main account, but the user's plan still ultimately seems to have backfired, because the person operating the accounts was clearly not expecting the sockpuppetry to be discovered. That is my theory, anyway. It could be wrong. --Katolophyromai (talk) 11:48, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

idiot of use

Well I never believe the idiots who tag projects - in all WP:AGF I am sure they are wise and wonderful. The general history of intelligence (sic) and espionage is becoming farcical as the life of enzo ferrari. Someone will eventually write and opera about him and the fate here in wp en.

@JarrahTree: lol. Right you are, on the both points. But I couldnt figure out why Template:WikiProject Espionage still shows it inactive. Any thoughts? —usernamekiran(talk) 00:17, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi. In case you didn't know, a closer's job is to read the the comments and close as appropriate. It's not to cast a super-vote, so there's no need to tell them how to close. Telling a nominator that they ought to be aware of policies and/or guidelines however, would be perfectly acceptable. I know all this is complicated, if you need any help understanding it all, don't hesitate to ask. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:22, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Akhiljaxxn. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Deep Vihar, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you.

Akhiljaxxn (talk) 01:48, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

@Akhiljaxxn: Hi. When an article is taken to the AfD, twinkle automatically marks it as patrolled. When any article is taken to AfD, it is either deleted, or kept. In other words, if it is deleted; the problem with article is gone with the article itself. If the article is kept, most probably the issue gets solved. In either case, it doesnt need to be "reviewed" as it goes through few different sets of eyes. See you around :) —usernamekiran(talk) 10:58, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Jim Leavelle/LHO Talk Page

When Leavelle testified before the Warren Commission, he claimed that the first time he had ever sat in on an interrogation with Oswald was on Sunday morning, November 24, 1963. When Counsel Joseph Ball asked Leavelle if he had ever spoken to Oswald before this interrogation, he stated; "No, I had never talked to him before". Leavelle then stated during his testimony that "the only time I had connections with Oswald was this Sunday morning [November 24, 1963]. I never had [the] occasion to talk with him at any time..."

In a 2006 interview, Leavelle said that he was the first to interrogate Oswald after his arrest (contrary to his Warren Commission testimony). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.254.234.202 (talk) 07:47, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Because of some work reasons, I spent Nov 21st to Nov 24th on Vogsphere, where all the bureaucratic offices are located. Unfortunately, there was no coverage of the incident in news of Vogsphere, and as I wasnt in Dallas, I dont have much idea what happened in Dallas in those days. As you mentioned above, the best place to discuss this would be the talkpages of LHO, assassination of JFK, and JFK assassination conspiracy theories. —usernamekiran(talk) 17:22, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

Backlog Chart changes

I've made some changes to the backlog chart, and am now going back to the original backlog chart at Wikipedia_talk:New_pages_patrol/Reviewers/Backlog_chart. I like your decision to only show data from the last 6 months, but I realised that we can simply exclude data using <!-- --> tags, and that way we can keep old data without having to maintain two pages. I also changed the backlog chart page so that it works more like a template, where you specify the width and height when you transclude it (you can find documentation at the chart page about how this works). This templating width and height allows us to transclude the same page's data into any size we like without having to maintain a different page for each size (for example I'd like to have a self updating chart in the next newsletter, but smaller in size than the one on the NPR page). I've blanked the 'backlog chart 2' page, so if you are going to update the page in future please update the 'Backlog chart' page instead. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 07:10, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

@Insertcleverphrasehere: Thanks for the msg. I have co-ordination page in my watchlist. I saw the upcoming newsletter, and templated chart there. But i missed the blanking of chart 2 page somehow. Also, i have the chart 1 page watchlisted as well, since it was created/separated from WT:NPPR. I like the idea of commenting out the undesired data as well, i should have thought of that earlier lol. On other note, I think the backlog will get steady around 1000 pages. On an average the rate of new pages is 400-700 pages per day (different average for weekends, holidays, and similar stuff). And given the current average of daily reviewing, we should be able to hold it on 1000. Unfortunately, I dont have much access to computers. But i will try to review (at least) 10 pages per day. —usernamekiran(talk) 12:08, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in study

Hello,

I am E. Whittaker, I am working with Wikimedia’s Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview.

Thank you Ewitch51 (talk) 22:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

@Ewitch51: apologies for delayed reply. Yes, I would like to take part in the study. I will contact you through email soon (in two-three days) to ask how/where the interview would be conducted, and similar questions. Regards, —usernamekiran(talk) 20:09, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

Article Rescue

Hi, I recently joined the Article Rescue Squad to restore deleted articles, and I see you are also a member. I have some articles that need a bit of a upgrade and I want to know if you will work on them to allow them to move into article space.

I need you to work on these 2 articles (add references and maybe copy edit)

Your draft article, Draft:Eladio del Valle

Hello, Usernamekiran. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Eladio del Valle".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Hhkohh (talk) 13:20, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Are you substing Template:Mono in your signature?

Because I note there are now <templatestyle> tags in your signature - see [1]. I don't think we want those for the same reason we don't want templates in signatures so I suggesting replacing that subst with <span class="monospaced" style="font-family: monospace, monospace;"> Galobtter (pingó mió) 18:38, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

@Galobtter: Hi. you are right. I was substituting mono. I will change the signature after this edit. Thanks for pointing it out. —usernamekiran(talk) 18:44, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Ping

I guess it doesnt work the way you expect it here. I was wondering why i got a ping but couldnt see my name. turns out the template doesnt allow such a use that you tried. it is showing anshe name and my user page link. just thought that you should know. cheers. --DBigXray 12:49, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

@DBigXray: Hi. I apologise for the delayed reply. The {{U}} template is useful when you dont want to dislay @ and : in the ping. It renders only username. If you add one more value, with | then the latter value is displayed instead of the username. Exactly like what happened with the edit you mentioned above. I usually use this method when I want to display some other value, like lets say, if I want to ping you, but display your name as "The Big Xray", then I would use {{u|The Big Xray}}. That day, I was on mobile, and i got edit conflict for two (or three) times, during third my next attempt i was already annoyed, and in the haste I used "U" instead of "re", and Abishe ended up with no ping. And you ended up wi a ping, but your username not being displayed. I apologise for the confusion. See you around :) —usernamekiran(talk) 08:14, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
yes, thats how internal links works with a pipe sign. so basically you mixed 2 seperate u tags that you intended into 1. --DBigXray 18:00, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

NPR Invitations

Hi kiran,

Experience has shown us that inviting users is the most effective way to reduce the NPR backlog. As the only other person to have shown a decent amount of enthusasm for inviting more people to NPP, would you be interesting in helping me manually check the automated pre-vetted list? I have a page that made up of users that passed a series of automated checks here: User:Insertcleverphrasehere/NPR invite list. Basically we just need to slowly work through the list and do a series of additional manual checks before deciding whether to send out the invitations. Its a long list, and I always find it is better to work with a friend on a large project like this one.

Also, I just have to note that you have my all-time favourite Douglass Adams quote on your user page. Nice. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 07:35, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

@Insertcleverphrasehere: Hi. Yes, i would love to work on it. I will start within 12-24 hours actually. Should we strike out the user's name that have been invited/not deemed to be invited? It would save the time from re-checking them (either by one of us, or onself). The list pretty big at this time, but if we work our way through it, i think we should loosen it by decreasing the limits of block and deleted articles to 6 months each.
And yes, Douglas Adams is one of my most favourite authors. He literally foresaw/predicted the "Nupedia" as the guide in his works, which later became the wikipedia. And his works are funny as hell too. —usernamekiran(talk) 08:14, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your help then! I decided to err on the side of 'more' rather than just the NPR baseline requirements when running the queries, and the list is plenty long as it is. If I decide to run another query, I can run it again with different parameters and just get it to exclude all users that are mentioned on the list page (no duplication). So if we get to the bottom of the list and then we want to loosen the parameters in some way to widen the net, we won't have to duplicate work.
You'll find that up the top of this list there aren't many borderline cases actually, they are mostly pretty clear passes or fails. Feel free to write notes and 'pass' or fail on each user, you can then simply invite those who you deem 'pass' and fail those you don't. After you've commented on and processed a block of users (invited or not-invited), just move those listings from the main table to the upper 'completed' table. Note that I've learned there isn't much point inviting users who have like 95%+ mainspace edits. These guys just write articles and rarely communicate with other editors, we should look for a good percentage of Wikipedia project space edits (ideally), or else a lot of user-talk edits and a good talk page bedside manner. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 09:27, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

Archive

Hi , regarding this edit by you. Please note that going forward it is expected that only a few comments will be made on this page as new information to add is likely to be scarce in future as the subject is dead. Which is why 6 month or 1 year is a safe time period for auto archive of such pages, 45 days will risk page comments getting archived without any response. --DBigXray 12:17, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

If you have no reason in response to above, i will revert you. and copy this to the article talk page, for historical purpose. thanks. --DBigXray 17:54, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
@DBigXray: Hi. I had thought about this. But keeping the threads for 365 days seemed pretty huge, so I changed the value for minimum threads to be left to 5. In case there is no activity, the threads being stale for 45 days would get archived, but still the recent 5 threads would remain on the talkpage. I think this is currently a good setting. If not, we can change it in the future according to need of the time. For now, I think we should go with current settings (45d). —usernamekiran(talk) 18:07, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
I feel it is wrong to speculate the number of threads. the number of days is reasonable. u can check past PMs page to get an idea of how much traffic the talk page gets after his death. I am sure you will understand that 365 or 730 is not "Long". Threads lying on the talk page is not really a problem, threads pointing out issues going into archive without being noticed is really a problem. hope this explains. --DBigXray 18:49, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
okay. And we can always manually archive the unnecessary threads when the talkpage gets bulky. I will change it to 365, and 3 threads. See you around. —usernamekiran(talk) 02:56, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
And can you explain why leaving 3 threads? What is the justification? If the age is over why leave it? --DBigXray 06:29, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
@DBigXray: No matter what the age is, if we assume there is no activity for that particular period (in this case for 365 days), then it is better to have something, than the blank page. But please feel free to make any changes that deem necessary/appropriate to you. You are certainly more experienced in biographies than I am. —usernamekiran(talk) 14:55, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
My thread is just to understand your opinion and more importantly the reason behind that, all you are responding is your opinions, without telling me why or the justification behind that. you say it is better to have something, than the blank page. ? why so ? I dont think it is better, actually it is worse I dont see any need to keep old threads on the page, just for the sake of keeping it. On the contrary A clean page looks a lot better than a page with 3 threads. --DBigXray 15:12, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

In response to your query regarding changes to Joanna Jet Wikipedia entry.

Hello,

I understand that I must not make personal entries but I consider it appropriate to remove any entries that are total fiction and without any valid source.

Regards,

@Joannajet: Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, you are right, as long as you remove the content that is not sourced, or make minor edits (like changing grammer without adding anything substantial, or punctuations, and similar stuff), it is okay to edit the article for yourself
And you have already mentioned on your userpage that you are Joanna Jet, so it is good too. If there are any questions/doubts, please feel free to ask me. Regards, —usernamekiran(talk) 17:23, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
