Conflict of interest

edit

  If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article User talk:ukexpat, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:29, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the message on my talk page. If you read the page's edit history you will see that I did not add the PROD notice. If you read the notice, you will see the following: If you can address this concern by improving, copyediting, sourcing, renaming or merging the page, please edit this page and do so. You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason. However please explain why you object to the deletion, either in your edit summary or on the talk page. So feel free to edit the article to deal with the concerns expressed in the notice.  – ukexpat (talk) 12:59, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the follow-up message. The article was redirected rather than being deleted. But that does not necessarily mean that it should, or always will, be a redirect. If you think you can put together an article that meets our requirements for notability, neutral point of view, and reliable sourcing, I suggest that you create a draft of the article in your user space. I have created a subpage for you at User:Ussee/Tania Doko, so you can put the article together at your own pace without fear of it being deleted (unless it is a breach of copyright or promotional). Please let me know if I can be of any further help. – ukexpat (talk) 19:42, 24 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
The subpage that I created is a user sandbox and text there is not indexed by the Wikipedia search engine. I have pasted the text that you left on my talk page into the subpage so you can work on it there. I will do some formatting clean up for you. Then you should probably head over to the New Contributors' Help Page and leave a note asking for other editors to review. – ukexpat (talk) 13:25, 25 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I fixed the reference problem, there was a closing tag (</ref>) missing. I also removed one of the named references that didn't point anywhere and removed some blank lines - you only need one line between sections and paragraphs. – ukexpat (talk) 14:09, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I will make a request for the page to be moved at WP:RM. It may take a little while for an admin to respond. Also, please note that even though I have reviewed and assisted with the formatting, there is no guarantee that the article will not be nominated for deletion again, and of course it will be open to editing by others. – ukexpat (talk) 14:55, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
