CVUA

edit

Hi Ross Hill. I saw on your Ross Hill/CVUA page that you are finding an assistant. Can I be your assistant? I have rollback rights on here and Commons, and I combat vandalism on Commons and Wikipedia regularly and have never been blocked. Can I be your assistant? Jianhui67 Talk 15:42, 26 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sounds great! Basically, you will have to add {{doing|Grading}} to units once they are complete, and grade unmarked questions involving diffs (I'd like to grade all the written questions for now). Don't feel obligated to spend tons of time grading if you are busy (I know you're in school). Any questions?
The template for adding new units is user:Ross Hill/CVUA/template. Ross Hill17:22, 26 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for accepting me as your assistant. And by the way, I have added a new section to your CVUA tasks page, which is Unit 8: Rollback. I think that the section may be relevant. Do you want to ask them at that section to go to WP:PERM/R to ask for the rollback right and assign them a task with rollback? If you don't want that section, you can remove it. Can I also add new sections to your students CVUA page? Thanks. Jianhui67 Talk 05:44, 27 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I have a comprehensive tasks page on User:Jianhui67/CVUA/Tasks that you may want to use. Jianhui67 Talk 08:24, 28 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Very cool! I'd love to incorperate them into the course. Just waiting on our students to finish their current units. Cheers, Ross Hill 20:57, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) Which is partly being held up by me. I'm having a major real life crisis at the moment (dealing with trying to get my federal student aid restored while going through a separation which will likely leave me homeless for an undetermined amount of time)... I do though. I have a userbox that says my previous username. I was wondering what "the first of which I think is highly commendable considering you'd no edits then." meant. (っ◔◡◔)っRoss Hill 13:02, 10 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Terribly sorry - in my haste, I didn't look very hard! About the first one, unless I've misunderstood (which is entirely possible, based on the above) you changed your username even though you'd not made any edits. First learn some HTML if you want to do some of the more fancy stuff. Then gain some inspiration from other users. You can find some good designs at Wikipedia:Userpage design center. I gained some inspiration from user talk:Hahc21, & user talk:Technical 13. Just try to keep them as uncluttered as possible. Do you have any specific questions? Hello, I've added a section on Plummer's special contribution to the field of librarianship and resubmitted, please take a look. I'm sorry but I don't understand your reference to WP:42 -- the article already included good published sources, independent from the subject. What you may not realize and what may not have been obvious before I added it, is that although librarianship is now dominated by women, in Plummer's time, leadership by women was relatively unusual. Seperate WP for businesses

edit

I see this as the way forward. A seperate WP for business created. We hive off existing articles from WP proper. Liasion with affected companies. Consenting companies agreeing to redistribute any monies made to their local enviroment. It could be administered by the foundation in alliance with local business guilds. It is a win-win. The company gets great kudos and we would allow them to publicise their philanthropy. Classic business enlightened self- interest. It can be done. What part of meta should I access? Never used Meta before. Thanks for the encouraging steer. No need to post on my talk BTW. I will be watching here. Cheers! Irondome (talk) 23:50, 20 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Make a subpage for your proposal at meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/TITLE , and then use the template: {{New sister project proposal}} to start the proposal. • Try a different browser: If you used Safari, try Firefox (or Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera...)
